Solid win. That first period was bonkers — Calgary turned the dial to 11 from the beginning.
Third period was intense even though there weren’t many shots allowed; all it takes is one to pinball in from somewhere.
Full marks for the C of Red — the Dome was packed and it was loud. I’ll even forgive the LBMs (lower bowl morons) in section 107 who insisted on starting the wave with five minutes left. Do better.
You are right about Section 107 starting the Wave. Shout out to any CPers from Section 107. Please explain to them that rotating crowd noise is quite distracting for players in a tight game.
They will always put the late game on its entirety on at least one channel but a golden rule of sports broadcasting is to never breakaway from a broadcast before it finishes. Rogers/CBC chose to do it on SN west for the Flames game but kept the pit/rangers game on CBC, SN pacific/ontario/East.
Ya and they made the wrong decision in terms of channel selection IMO.
CBC is a national Canadian broadcaster. Their mandate is literally to make Canadian content available over American content. They should be switching to the Flames while SN East or Central (or both) continue with the American teams. Not surprised that Rogers effed it up but I knew as soon as I turned it on that game was going long.
Personally I have a good laptop and a SN Now subscription so I wasn’t too fussed but not everybody does.

The fans tonight were awesome. So much energy it was amazing. But the damn wave started rearing its ugly head again....
