Totally agree. He's had so many injuries and setbacks that benching him after a bad period isn't going to do anybody any good. Keep playing him in the 3rd. See what happens. He needs to slow down and just.......relax. He looks like he's panicking at times and making poor choices. Just settle down, and make the simple play. He's a good player but like you said he's in his own head. He needs to figure it out.

Have said it before,

The only way you get confidence is by doing things right, over and over and over again.

No mystery.

The Valimaki situation reminds me of Kylington's early struggles.

Sutter is great at handling young players with confidence issues though.

The way he gave Ruzicka opportunities in key situations right after some rookie mistakes earlier in the season led to Ruzicka taking a step. Was able to redeem himself and improve.

Totally. It's between the ears. Make simple plays, gain some confidence, get more playing time and you never know.

Everyone here is ready to jump on someone since the whipping boy Kylington is out. Valimaki hasn’t been terrible. One floaty pass to space (where his winger should have been) and other than that he’s done some pretty solid work separating man from puck on the cycle. Had one great look in the first as well.

Mackey has fit in seamlessly though and is making Valimaki look bad by comparison. Both are an upgrade on recent Zadorov, that’s for sure.

He won’t beat out Josi for the Norris but it’s baby steps. Can’t be afraid to let guys make mistakes.

Nobody is jumping on anybody for anything.

Valimaki is struggling....full stop.

Not sure how this is a contraversy.

he has had like 4 terrible turnovers, calling a spade a spade

I am the last guy that jumps on Flames players...if Zadorov is healthy he is playing Saturday
