For sure as they shouldn't get off the hook so easily as they knew the guy was a problem player when they signed him and simply wanted to win bad enough to overlook it.

I dont know but the statement specifically says AHL COVID protocols so he probably did something.

I think you are right because it would also be weird to say that his breach was so dangerous to warrant contract termination but then wait until now to do something. They could have just paid him so stay home in the first place while working on the legalities if they really thought the first breach was that serious.

I think he had to serve his suspension? And then he played something like 8 games in the AHL and now this.
Its Kane, it is entirely within the realm of possibility and likelihood that he did something freshly stupid.

Giving a problem child a second chance is not a bad thing. No one could expect what he would do next.
Evander Kane went overboard with issues. No team could expect those issues from a player.
I give San Jose a pass for this. You can not expect a player on your team to be that stupid ever.
I would give San Jose their cap space back. Their fans deserve it after all of this.
I hope the guy never plays another NHL game.
That said what a talent wasted.
