W's and L's don't muchatter right now. It was just nice to see some hockey and see the future.

Zary, Pelletier, Wolf, Dueher, Pospisil all impressed. Came as advertised.

Can't wait for game #2. Maybe see Nikolaev and maybe Beck if healthy.

I watched the last 12 minutes of the 2nd and thought Zary looked good, and that was about it.
Thought Whynot looked really really bad.
I guess that's why they go to development camps though. These guys are going to take a while (if ever) to get where they need to be.

Don’t forget this is pre-season for CP as well. So far I am impressed, CP is in mid season form

Thought some of the oiler goals were pretty fortunate and caught Wolf off balance. Definitely some rookies needing to clean up in the defence zone and penalties.

I love how a preseason rookie game even results in bickering in FOI. Such a wonderful backdrop to trying to see how the team looked.

Pettersen and Zary were the most creative and dynamic players on the ice from my viewing.

Pospisil was probably the most consistently effective forward.

I wasn't overly impressed with any of the Flames D. Kinnvall looked pretty good at the top of the PP and I liked Wolf's game although those shots over his shoulders are always going to be a concern (first one he had no chance).

I'm looking forward to Monday's game. Fun to have the Flames back.

Zary, Pelletier, Posilpil, Duehr should provide the big team some help in the next few years
Zavrogodny and Petersson showed some flashed but it’s a long shot if they have enough to be a NHLer
It will be a long time before this defense can help the NHL if ever. Not impressed with any of them. Poirrer should look to convert to a forward, dude has some talent but totally lost on defense.
Wolf made some good saves but look small in net. He has to be much better to cover for that deficiency

perspective is important
Whynot is 18 and 2 days into his first pro camp
Poirier is 19 and 2 days into his first pro camp
Kuznetzov is 19 and 2 days into his first pro camp
Kinnvall is also 2 days into his first NHL camp

Yup they have time to prove themselves

But based on this one game, they are a long way from ready. Some of them looked terrible no matter what age. They were playing against their peers, not true NHLers

Good to see that some folks on CP are already in mid-season form by getting an early start on the over-reacting.
Hitting the ground running!

Haha

This all started because I said they were just like the real flames.

Give you hope at the start and then slowly choke the joy out of watching.

Which was very true of this game. Started strong, got a 2-0 and 3-1 lead, then eventually lost and it wasn't as fun watching the oil prospects score 3 straight goals and beat our guys. First part of the game was much more enjoyable I thought.

I don't care that the prospects lost a game to another teams prospects lol. Sure I'd rather they win, but whatever. No biggie

I was drawing a parallel to the big club which was pretty accurate

Listened on 960, looks like it was way better than the oilers broadcast.

Standouts sounded like Pelletier, Pospisil, Peterson and Francis from just ears and no eyes.

They were giving Wolf props too despite the score.

Edit: Dueher and Kinnvall getting some love too.

I thought Wolf would have a much better showing given its the no goods prospects.

Must've been a pretty loosey goosey game.

He got beat on one goal short side on a blow defensive play by Poirier that wasn't all that great.

Another Snuck in off a deflection from Kinvall who had his stick laid down blocking passing lanes.

Another was totally u stoppable PP goal cross slot one timer

Oiler PBP numpty said it should be concerning because 2 goals were caused by his size. (Goals 1 and 2 in my description)

You could argue the blown defensive play short side goal would be due to his size and lack of upper post coverage I suppose. But the Kinvall goal? Nah. Just deflected weird and caught him off guard.

Zary looked creative the little bits of the game I saw.

Sloppy game over all though, as these games usually are.

I think we get to see him play some pre-season hockey.
