Yeah, I thought that about Wheeler's for sure. Didn't seem like he maintained forward momentum, which I thought was the rule, but I could absolutely be wrong.

Yes 2 of the last 3 were borderline and I think you could see Markstrom look at the refs about the puck being basically stopped as the shooter makes the attempt.

But it's really just a product of the fact that time has pretty much appeared to have stood still in the City of Winnipeg since 1983.

The Jets suck so badly that they can't even win by cheating.

I predicted Tanev to lead the team with a +20 on the season.

Thought it was a bit ambitious for a shortened season. But in 8 games he and Hanifin are +6, so it looks like they could project to meet or surpass that mark.

Yeah he’s been good all year. I have no complaints with him or Monahan this season.

But to be honest this was a whole different level from Gaudreau tonight. Could tell he was feeling confident and was really moving his feet and attacking the defense.

Man is Valimaki ever growing in confidence and showing how smart he is. He made a nice pinch, the pass to Johnny but I liked how he just got the puck out of the zone (one even off the glass). If it's not there just get rid instead of holding too long and inviting forecheck and turnover.

He's just a great head up smart, young player. Great passes.

Iafrate won many of the hardest shot titles in the All Star Skills competition when they'd send separate groups to the skills and the game. Kind of bugged me because he'd always beat out MacInnis.

One guy I've been impressed with is Nesterov. He's aggressive at times and made his share of mistakes but I feel he's really gelling with Valimaki and they might be the best bottom pairing we've had in a long time. When they are on the ice I don't feel the same panic that I've had in past years. Really brings a healthy balance to our defense. Obviously helps that Valimaki is a stud but kudos to Nesterov too.

I know Ward wants Lindholm to play centre, and maybe it's too soon, but I would like to see him going back to the playoff lineup to give some much needed boost and familiarity to the forward group.

Gaudreau - Monahan - Lindholm
Tkachuk - Backlund - Mangiapane
Lucic - Bennett - Dube
Simon - Ryan - Leivo

Not sure about the stats, but has it gotten harder to win in OT than it used to be when we first went to 3 on 3?

Sportscentre had the Johnny Mangi presser. Hilarious, Mangi giving Johnny props and Johnny into his mic, c’mon keep going, keep going....

That's pretty much what we got tonight (in a roundabout way) with Johnny and Backlund leading the forwards in icetime.

The lateral fake out attempts on Markstrom after skating in skating in with pace felt kind of cheeky/cocky.

He was fooled the first time, but he didn't bite then onward and beat them at their own game.

One of the more satisfying shootouts I must say.
