Totally get that it is an exhibition game and we shouldn't read too much into it ....
...except that the Flames look a lot like they do too often the last few seasons. Bad defensively despite a great blue line (on paper), no finish whatsoever, top line center has no 2-way game, impact winger has no impact, shaky goaltending, white bread coaching.
Lord, I'm discouraged.

Neal’s new implants are so white, they look neon. Maybe next time he gets them knocked out he can get a softer shade. Thinking Rasmus would like to help him out with that

Oilers better 5 on 5, better pp, better pk, more physical.
Flames look like the flames. Each line has no real identity, checking lines don't really crash and bang, skilled lines are a liability if they are checked tightly, and sub average goaltending to top it off.
Flames look ready to battle in a few days.
Oilers are going to do well this playoff. They've got the skill, the special teams, and great coaching. They're gonna sweep the craptastic hawks

Gotta work in the morning so I’ll be tapping out. Top line and 4th line look bad. 2nd and 3rd look okay but not amazing. D is shaky. Talbot started shaky but I think settled down.
Hoping I wake up to a comeback but if I don’t oh well. It’s just exhibition.

Our future at forward starts with Tkachuk (Lafreniere would be a decent option to)

First exhibition game back after a 4 month break...I'm not gonna put too much stock into what happens tonight.
That being said, it really bugs me that the Oilers were clearly prepared to start this game, and the Flames weren't. Story of the season. Hopefully the boys will at least show up for the 2nd and 3rd and make a game of this.
And they'd better be ready for game 1 against Winnipeg, or this will be a very short tournament for the team in red.
