The last part is not accurate. Players and teams split revenue, not profits. Whatever is contributed by either party comes out of only their share.

Sorry, how is 50% of this coming from the players?
The players are getting paid in full.
As of Thursday CSEC employees are receiving zero. If ownership contributes more, it’s beyond HRR.

The players will see a larger amount withheld from escrow due to the list revenues... ultimately they will be losing a lot of their paycheque because of this.

He needs to save his money cause he's probably going to continue losing it to suspensions.

Brett Wilson and Francis I assume.
Without any context seems sort of random.

Clubs are allowed to subtract direct costs from HRR for employees that contribute to a revenue activity. That would be the vast majority of these employees. They cannot include the coaches, scouts, accountants, doctors, physics but they can include the concession workers, the ushers, etc. As they contribute to a revenue generating activity.

Right. Perm with the floral shirts... that makes more sense. Oh wait I misread. Also calling out fleury? Weird.

Revenues are not the same thing as Net Income.
None of this would come out of the players pockets.

Yes it would because owners are allowed to deduct direct costs. For parking under the cba owners are allowed to deduct salaries related to the running of the parking lot. For concessions they are allowed to deduct salaries of vendors and food preparers, novelty sales they are allowed to deduct labour and other indirect costs, publications like the in game magazine they are allowed to deduct labour costs, club internet they are allowed to deduct salaries. For most of these wages the players would be paying 50 percent of them.

Ray you’re famous. I hope you get mentioned in Sid’s (of Tim and Sid, not the Kid) inevitable raging rant.

A Calgary Flames fan is raising money for hourly and event staff at the Scotiabank Saddledome whom the team's ownership group won't be compensating during the hiatus resulting from the coronavirus pandemic.
Raymond Lau, a longtime season-ticket holder and former hourly employee at the arena, started a GoFundMe on Saturday night after learning that Calgary Sports and Entertainment Corporation was choosing not to pay relevant workers for the lost shifts.

I literally do the accounting for the Flames for this and am trying to explain (factually) how it works. I’m not going to get into specific details, but the players absolutely are going to see a higher escrow rate, and therefore reduced salaries if the games and especially playoffs are missed. Net HRR is split between owners and players, and net HRR will go down significantly with a month of games and entire playoffs missed.
