Not sure I’d like that trade being Getzlaf and his age. I doubt he would waive his NTC to come to Calgary. He’s pretty much become a California boy. His lifestyle is very Cali oriented now with his family and all, even if he was a Hitman but that was a long time ago.

Just like other trade deadlines with 15 minutes to go... I'm foolishly optimistic that something big will happen, but fully prepared to be disappointed and waiting to hear:

- We like our group
- Prices were too high
- We were in discussions for every player
- We were runner up for (insert player here)
