You can see it that way but I didn't and appreciated the fact of seeing how he's been. It's only one part of the story I like that we have balanced scoring and effort, that's depth!
There are.other things then points to merit play on too though! Really think Mony has taken a big step in his defensive play this year.for instance.

I was talking about Ryan. But in any event, you had posted about it earlier, before the question, after I said they were missing the net tonight. And you took the stat and made something out of it. You want to criticize the team generally but again, this is the game thread. There’s lots of topics to discuss these things in.

That season was certainly defined by Turek getting seriously injured requiring the Kipper trade, where he and Noodles manned the net before Kipper was then hurt. McLennan held the fort while both were injured and Noodles himself had a broken sternum.
My point being that Turek basically lost his net permanently once Kipper came to town. Whereas Kipper and McLennan were more of a tandem that year.
|
Oh absolutely agreed. But I don't think that excludes the Kipper/Turek combo. If Kipper went down or was unavailable for a game back in 04, the Flames had a darn good #2 option to fall back upon. Rittich is certainly a less defined starter this year but I think the general sentiment applies to both goalie duos.

I think the top line criticism sweeps him up unfairly this year.

Backlund really is useless with Gaudreau and Monahan. Tre needs to make a deal for another forward, stat. Move Backlund back to the third line.
