You don’t think a young goalie like BSD would be influenced in practice by a self appointed “expert” puck handler like Smith?
Obviously, clearly not literally Smith’s fault, but I think it’s naive to think that Rittich isn’t picking up something from Smith. And like clockwork, Smith makes a bunch of great plays with the puck, but inevitably about 6 total bonehead plays per season that end up in his own net. Rittich has 2 in the past 4 days.
I think if Smith is on the bench, maybe we should not blame him for goals? Just a thought.

Johnny looked electric that shift but makes a bad decision with the puck causing a 3 on 2.
No way is that on Gaudreau. He got the puck cleanly to Hamonic with time and space, hard to blame him if Hamonic misses the net to cause the 3 on 2 the other way.
Brutal period by Monahan, hopefully he gets skating and thinking again. Can't just rely on Gaudreau all of the time.
3rd line looked like our best line by far, and Andersson has looked solid on the left side. Hopefully the top line settles down and if so we'll be fine.
