The net is empty, Brian. It's easier to score on the empty net than it is blocking shots and gritting it out for two minutes. Bad take by Burke here.

It's annoying to me that he's calling Johnny out, but the Canadian press turns around and bangs the drum that mcdavid doesn't get enough calls while he's doing the same thing Johnny is.

Funny thing about this, is it was commented during the game the Flames have had the 2nd (3rd?) most power plays this season.
Time to put it to bed.

A slash is a slash. Period. Call every single one on every single player. League should just adjust to it. You can say that it would lead to a ton of power plays... that’s fine. After a week of it, everyone will adjust. It’s insane that refs let their egos into the game and won’t call stuff cause they hate it when players point out that they missed calls.
And Kypreos is seriously suggesting that gaudreau should just accept that he doesn’t deserve to get calls cause he has the puck so much and is so elusive that guys are unable to hit him. Come on. Call it by the book. Period. No reason to be wacking the hands.

I normally don't like it on the Flames, but I don't know what else Johnny can do to get the calls. They are constantly missing liberties taken against him, and if he's not drawing attention to it I don't know how many they call.
He's up there in the league for calls drawn, and there's still 3-5+ a night blatantly missed.
I don't like that he's doing it, but I'd encourage it until they start calling it enough to deter it

About what? Not using Gaudreau to defend a 1 goal lead with the net empty? I kinda agree with him. Why not use the same guys you use to kill penalties?

Kypreos is still concussed by Cummins.

No, Kypreos is saying can the theatrics and the calls will come. Refs will tune you out and bias will subconciously form against you when you keep yapping and wiggling the wrist.
Look at the gudbranson hit. Had nothing to do with his wrist yet when he gets up what does he shake like Kypreos said, like its insitnct.

Or refs could make the calls, and then Johnny wouldn't need to ask for them. Of the two parties (Gaudreau, and the officials), only one is failing to do their job.

I don't know if I completely agree. He completed some good zone entries, he chased the puck hard on dumps, he's protected the puck well along the boards to maintain possession, and he's received ill placed passes from his feet as good as anyone else.

That intermission made me angry. I was expecting more positive talk about the Flames considering they lead the division and dominated much of the first. Instead we get Johnny is a whiner and shouldn’t play late in games. Hot takes.

Or, stop giving them reasons to not call them. You think that doesn't play into things?
