Monahan really struggles with backchecking and he's not especially strong at carrying the puck.
Backlund is better than he's been, but when he's playing like he is today he's a liability.
Jankowski seems to lack any neutral zone presence and hasn't been able to complete many passes at the NHL level in his career.
Ryan has also not impressed me. Soft and not very elusive.
Of the above group, Backlund is the only one who's necessarily "underperforming" right now. I do think there's some potential in Lindholm, Bennett, and Dube, but we seem to be pretty committed to those three as wingers.
