It's now game 10...

Doesnt look like the team has any identity again. Very tough to pinpoint why the team is so inconsistent

Yeah, I agree. But not everyone does.

Yup and they found Murray’s chest with great frequency.

First period done. Is there any player that any poster actually liked on the Flames?

The one big difference to me.. Rittich stops tips. Smith's 5-hole is the size of the blue ring.

It's not confidence in goaltending, because they gave up a crap ton of shots and chances with the other goalie in net.

The team has a defense and puck control problem.

Maybe time for Peters to dust off the old neutral zone trap and left win lock game plans. May be the only way to prevent all these glorious scoring chances.

Yup, it's pretty brutal. This team isn't going anywhere until they can tighten up the D.

Can't blame Smith on all those goals, but I think it's time for Peters to run with the hot hand and go with Rittich, at least so we can try and string a few W's together.

####, If the Oilers win tonight and the Flames lose. I'll never hear the end of it at work tomorrow. I'm calling in sick.

Ya he has been the most consistently effective forward on the team.

Can we please break up the 3M line? It was nice and all for that one game against Boston, but before that and since... It's been pretty underwhelming.

This probably or more unpopular opinion, but I also think it might be time to break up Monahan and Gaudreau. I just haven't seen Monahan be a driver to the line at all and I wonder if it's leaning on Gaudreau to create everything because of how dynamic he is that way. Id look at:

Gaudreau-Backlund-Neal
Tkachuk-Monahan-Lindholm

Default Penguins vs Flames

The entire game changed the moment Smith let in that first softy.

Don’t care much for excuses - there are no excuses this year.

Smith can’t get the job done.

It matters when you let a soft goal in. We saw it with Moose, we’re seeing it with Smith. The guy is done as a starter because he can’t bring the consistency a starter needs to bring.

With our luck, the Canucks will probably beat the Coyotes as well.

Hamonic has made some good plays in the neutral zone. Gaudreau looked hot the first half of the period.
