Word's cannot even BEGIN to describe how satisfying this win was. A f'ing shutout in Anahain, are you kidding me?!?
What a pick up Hamonic has been. It's early still ,but so far he's been an absolute beast. Some huge hits tonights, a fight, and he skates and passes the puck so well. Him and Brodie looked like a top pairing unit tonight. Unreal.
The Ducks were zoning in on Gaudreau, but he still found a way to make plays and could have had another multi point game. 3M line was excellent again. Bennett's line had it's chances. And the 4th line did what it was supposed to do.
Flames look in mid-season form the past couple games. And what is this feeling inside me? I feel...confident when the games best shooters have point blanks chances that the Flames goalie will save it?

Don’t see it that way at all, there is certain things in sport that you should honour and demonstrate proper decorum and this is a situation where Bieksa shows no respect for that. I hope Tkachuk doesn’t do something like that nor do I think he would - my opinion. Tkachuk was the one trying to grab it in the first place.

Well, they didn't play their best and Kelser missing is as huge factor.
But they're not unbeatable. No problem facing them in the playoffs at all.

I didn't find myself cursing Troy Brouwer all night so that was nice.

So, so happy to see this go down.
Mike Smith is shutting down the naysayers nice and early!!
Awesome small stat from tonight: Bennett went 6/9 in the faceoff circle.

I thought Bartkowski had a good game. Pretty sure the only times I noticed him was when he made some really good plays.

From somewhere in Genesis:
The Flames saw all that they had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning--the sixth day, and F*** the Ducks.
Bolded is my interpretation.

Hamonic is soooooo good and the swagger he gives Brodie is insane.

Gaudreau playing great, Brodie looks to be back, Gio the same old no 1 defensemen, 3M line doing its thing, getting goaltending. This team might be really good. If this is the standard they play at for most of the season then I think they go far. Right now we appear to have 3 d who would be legitimate no 1’s on a lot of the teams league wide.
Bennett’s played well but if he can get his scoring touch then watch out.

after betting on the flames repeatedly the last bunch of times in Ana including the playoffs, i made sure to bet on the Ducks tonight.
Best $100 i ever lost.
Smith was great but good team effort all around, even Brouwer looked decent for a change.

I don't know which thread is more enjoyable to read. This thread or the Oilers HF board. There's a lot of negativity on that HF board.

With all the fuss over Bartowski in the pre-season, he's been pretty solid so far. He and Stone look like a quietly effective bottom line. Hopefully they can keep it up.

To put this curse into perspective, my teenage son is sitting with me here watching this win. He had to wait till he was 13 to see a win in that building. He was born 4 months after the last win in 2004.
Kinda brings tears to my eyes to share in this mementos occasion with him.
