The fact that Elliott reacts like a maniac when a puck gets by him gives me no hope in his ability to be the goaltender to take this team somewhere. He is the opposite of Tyler Parsons. He has no composure, and it's the reason why his play seems to snowball when something unfortunate happens.

Roberts and Niewendyk in their prime with MacInnis quarterbacking the powerplay...

Stars saved the Flames from a huge disappointment! Could even save Treliving from being fired next season if Bishop turns out to be another Hiller or Elliot. Go cheap and start build a real team rather than a goalie wet dream.

It will be interesting to see what happens in Dallas. If he can get back to the form of a couple of years ago the Stars will likely be back in the playoffs. Hitchcock will likely have that team playing much better defensively so I expect that their GAA would improve with or without Bishop.

Hearing that the Dallas Stars and Ben Bishop's camp are very close on a new contract... Could happen as early as today but we'll see...

Scr#w you Ben Bishop. Never wanted you anyway. When you were playing, I was thinking of other goalies.

I'm actually worried now. If you believe the reports that Tre tried to snag Bishop at the deadline, and was also trying to acquire his rights this past week, well then obviously Bishop was plan A for our management and when you look at what's left out there it's just a whole lot of giving up assets and/or serious question marks.
Sure doesn't leave with a warm fuzzy feeling about what our goaltending is going to look like next season.

Lots of things can and will likely happen between now and July. I wouldn't worry until we actually know who Treliving brings in.

Yeah, at this stage what would be available?
Raanta, Grubauer, and Mrazek are the only goalies I'd care much about that could potentially be available due to the expansion draft - and I wouldn't want any sort of significant asset-spend attached to acquiring any of them.
...and none of those 3 are exactly jaw-droppers. I was really hoping we'd end up with an answer to the goalie question this summer and now I'm thinking that we're going to be answering a question with another question. I'm hoping it's something exciting though - like a Grubauer or Raanta, and not Brian freaking Elliott.

I want to be mad at Bishop, but if he already waived to come here last summer and had an extension in place as well, only to have Flames ownership shut it down, and then on top of that have the supposed waffling at the deadline well I certainly don't blame him for saying "thanks but no thanks" at this point.
Plus he's American, and also 6'7" tall so he wouldn't be able to go anywhere here without being hounded. In Dallas, even at 6'7" he'd be able to blend in a lot more.

If the stories are 100% accurate, if I were him I'd tell the Flames to go pound sand too.
