How dare you besmirch the good name of Peter Maher who called it down the line always. And yes he said yeah baby but indeed during big moments as opposed to being a total homer in every single game

Well that was horrible to watch, and all I saw was a couple of minutes including the PP in OT. Pittsburgh looked.....awful. And totally homer broadcast. I couldn't stand it so turned it back off. Glad to see the Greasers only got 1.

Peter Maher was a radio broadcaster, homerism is to be expected there. He also called an even game in the play by play. When he called a goal, I'd have to listen to crowd noise sometimes to know which team it was.

On TV their is at least a semblance of calling an even game, even if it's not hidden very well.

Your right that I have no doubt Ball and Hrudey would be much different, but I find it irritating when they gush too much too. Remenda was really just on another level tonight, it was non stop. He actually couldn't say another players name without saying Connor first and correcting himself.

The big difference is that Peter Maher called a professional and impartial game for the most part. The "yea baby" was generally only used for special moments. That s--t we heard tonight was beyond embarrassing and cringe-worthy.

Of McDavid? I cant stand that he is on the Oilers but most peoples hate for him is pure jealousy that we do not have him. Its frustrating that the Oilers got a hand out again and a franchise rejuvenated. But it is what it is. We just spend too much time complaining on hear about the commentators talking about the guy who may be the best player in the world. We need to accept it because its going to be like this for fifteen years
