Its bad when the NFL would penalize you for a head shot like that but the NHL wont.

If gully actually doesn't address the team after games I'm in shock. He should be fired tomorrow, this is the worst the Flames have looked in so many years. When they sucked under Hartley they at least we're scoring and Gaudreau and Monahan still were good.

Unfortunately they announced the 50/50 number with a minute left in the game so I was forced to stay, and I didn't win that either. A horrible night all around.

0/5 in Toronto when I attend.
I just listened to the post game comments by both those guys...and I don't know if they're out to lunch, on drugs, or trying to be positive, but they don't seem nearly as disappointed as they should be in how the game went.

I don't like the overall attitude of the team at all this year. I've seen Gulutzan's coaching style by now (I don't like it), but I am actually quite alarmed by Gio's response, I thought he had more fire than this. Seems like they are far too comfortable with these outcomes.

According to Leafs fans it was super clean, even though it's a shoulder to the head, doesn't matter Johnny is small it's still a shoulder to the head. And it's Komarov

They aren't and it isn't.
Blech...do you have a link to his comments?

That's really disappointing, coming from the captain.

Flames players have taken cross checks to the neck of late with no suspension...or penalty at all

you can bet your ass the Flames are gonna get a game or two though

Trading Hall and Yak did a lot for the Oilers. Retooling the rebuild. I'm starting to think that's something the flames should consider. A lateral move, young player for younger player? These young guys aren't bad. They're good and have potential yet, of course, but I don't know if they're all the sort you win with. When has Monahan shown more leadership than scoring the odd goal in a losing effort? Shown any grit or unhinged emotion for his team? Sam Bennett has all the potential in the world but is incredibly fragile mentally and undisciplined. I still remember when he didn't make the team out of his first camp and how petty/entitled his attitude about it seemed afterwards. Perhaps those two guys don't have the intangibles to help make this team a winning one, as much as we know they'll be productive NHLers. There's guts who can make careers as nhlers and then there's guys that make teams winners. I'm not sold on this crop, because I don't see any of them stepping up, in any sense of the word.

Gaudreau and Monahan are taking less responsibility or accountability than they showed last season despite receiving massive bumps in pay. The team is paying them to take the reigns and carry this team and they have instead turtled and neither has worked to progress their individual games and show some form of growth as players or leaders. That irks me more than anything.

Country club? I think Gio has been in one place for too long. They need to send a message to the young players and this to me would be the ideal move.

He tries a couple of times before getting the spot he wants. He has a name for that already. Kid better watch out you can't got around blatantly trying to injure players.
Blah blah blah, can't go around, blah blah, I've watched dirty players my whole life get around with zero response. The whole he's gonna get his thing is so stupid because it rarely ever happens. Tkachuk will be fine and can and will stand up for himself. Least of our worries, and thank god we were lucky enough to get him.

I don't want them to trade any key players (yet) until we see what they can do with a real coach again. We know these guys can play, we've seen it. These are the same guys that stepped up bigtime to win a playoff round 2 seasons ago. Trading one of them just to see them have amazing success under a competent coach somewhere else would be unbearable.

Also if we didn't get Tkachuk. Pretty sure he's won us a fair amount of games already

My preference is for patience and more importantly, STABILITY in management, but oh boy, this recent run, coupled with the start to the season has me wavering on Gulutzan. To come out and lose 4-0 after getting shellacked by the Oilers on Saturday shouldn't happen, especially when Toronto didn't play a particularly dominating game.

Yeah I don't want to start messing with management but I really have no faith in the coaching staff anymore

I don't want to either, but if it's Bennett plus something for a player like Duchene I would seriously consider it. Not saying I want to trade Bennett but I'm not liking his mentality at all. He's our highest pick ever, and in year 3 I'm getting worried. He hasn't done enough for me to think that these are inconsistent stretches or he just isn't the player we thought we were getting. It sucks to see Marner who was drafted #4 the next year just #### on everything Bennett has done in half a season. Tkachuk has also done the same.

Used to look at my phone at work and see the Flames down 1-0 and say to myself they will come back and look back in an hour they would be. Now I see 1-0 and know for a fact we will lose the game already. That's called awful motivation by an awful coach. Plain and ####ing simple.

Well where is this awesome leadership from Brouwer? Isn't that why he's being paid so much for those intangibles?

I'm about done with the Stajan era too. His locker room awesomeness is doing sweet eff all. I can't believe he's got another year left after this.

Giordano's comments post game are really bizarre. Now I don't expect him to come out and slam the team but that was a good effort and they just didn't get any breaks? Anderson was barely tested, and when they actually hit the net everything was square into the Maple Leafs crest on his jersey.

He lost more battles than he won, he turns the puck over routinely, he can't keep the puck in on the blue line, he can't get his shot through from the point, whenever he's on the ice he's chasing and his intensity level is pathetic. No wonder the team plays with little energy when this is what is going on from the captain. That was one of the worst games I've ever attended.
