And after this... well, Johnny Gaudreau is selfish, Sean Monahan only is good because of Gaudreau, Brouwer is overpaid, and so I don't see any future for this team. I think they'll finish last in the NHL, and pick fourth overall, and get to watch the Oilers win the Stanley Cup.

Gosh, I'm so mad.

But really, how much did you like their chances (even at the prospect of playing well) coming in against Columbus, who have lost the least amount of games of any team in the league thus far?

It wasn't going to be easy tonight to begin with. All we can hope for is the team goes out swinging tonight. Get a couple, maybe. But at least come out not feeling embarrassed by the effort.

Hahaha the overreactions in here are hysterical. We're losing to a team with the best record in the NHL currently for gods sakes. We weren't going to win every game for the rest of the year.

I would echo others sentiments though, in that they are looking eerily similar to the Flames of October. Johnny seems to be trying to do too much again, despite the fact he's broken through a few times.

Hoping for a big third period.

And Ferland is one of your fav players?
Irony.

That's not a shot at Ferland btw.

Of course the Sharks and Kings both win tonight as well. Overall this has been a brutal week for the Flames in regards to the standings. For a couple of days there it looked like we might actually be fighting for the division lead. So much for that. Would have been nice to at least pass the Oilers tonight, but we can't even get that.

I've rearranged my desk to how it was during the win streak.

Superstitious firepower.

If you really can't detect the IQ / Skill difference between the two, I don't know what to say. They aren't remotely similar players.

I expected the team would have some troubles after that 7 game winning streak. Losing a few games might be the best thing to happen to our Flames. Give them a sense of reality that maybe they weren't as good as they thought they were.

Thank god they have some teams coming up that they won't have to be playing 100% to beat. Will be a chance to regain confidence in their game.

Next game i'd like to see:

Gaudreau - Monahan - Versteeg
Tkachuk - Backlund - Frolik
Chiasson - Bennett - Brouwer
Ferland - Stajan - Hathaway

Giordano - Hamilton
Wotherspoon - Brodie
Engelland - Wideman
