Think David Wolf with speed and more skill. Wrecking ball out there and drives the net. I'm shocked he fell as far as he did. Likely not a top 6 forward in the future, but is very much a banger type forward with some offense. Raw still.

Tell me he doesn't skate like Wolf. He skated like a really clumsy mix of post-injury David Jones and a dump truck.

He did, and was impressive. With his size and physicality, he may be able to reach the potential Sieloff was supposed to have as a high quality bottom pairing physical defender. Still has work to do though. He'll be in Stockholm next season and Stockton the year after most likely.

No, more like Carroll or Hunter Smith in their draft year.

Tuulola made a couple really nice passes during the mini-scrimmage.

He's the best prospect goalie the Flames have had since Trevor Kidd. Could he plateau as a middling starter at the NHL like Kidd, sure. Could he become a top 5 goalie, sure.

Goalies are a total crapshoot though. He's checking all the boxes as of right now.

The best of the newly drafted players were Tkachuk, Fox, and Tuulola today.

Dube has flashes of awesome as well. One play he undressed the defender entirely and got a quality shot off.

The thing that stood out the most was that nobody came in and was terrible. Sieloff for example last year came in and was terrible. Some progressed less than others like Carroll, but everyone made forward movement in their development, which is a good thing.

I am transferring all the vids from the two groups onto my laptop before they go up on youtube.

Took most of the mini scrimmages and some other stuff as well mostly of the morning group.

Thanks for your efforts Caged Great, Freeway and any others who are watching and reporting.

I really appreciate the info. It kinda sucks never being able to check out these camps in person, but your reports always take some of the sting off.
Kudos!

Default Flames development camp - Week of July 4th

Just saw the first video you posted up Caged, definitely a lot more physical this year. Brian Burke is a happy man.

I was asked in a PM about Phillips. I'll copy my reply here.

He's good. He still needs time, just like Mangiapane last year. The true test will not come until he hits the AHL. He has all the skill in the world, but it's that change from juniors to the AHL that will show if he's the next Bryan Cameron, or the next Nathan Gerbe (or better). The unfortunate thing is that we won't know for two years. I'm hoping he has another good year in the dub this season.

I'm in the process of adding them all into a single playlist. It's going to be about 28-30 videos that are anywhere from 10-30 seconds in most cases with a longer one or two at 1:30.

Best thing I could say in this thread is simple!

Thank You!

Passionate fan here, would love to debate prospects we have, yet without watching them, and the fact its their first day on the ice I will reserve my comments about which players are busts or futures stars till tomorrow.

Tomorrow I will still have not watched them yet will predict their future.

Kidding I wont!

Thanks for the updates guys and gals.
