Donaldson expected to play on Friday.
Ditto for Saunders (was he hurt?)
Doesn't look like Price will pitch in the series due to the Sox game that was postponed.

Looking forward to Friday! Home opener, sell out crowd, Stroman on the mound. And to top it off George Bell will be there to present Donaldson with his MVP award. Should be fun!!

An article from VICE Sports on Vlad Guerrero Jr.

Quote:
While Guerrero remains raw in terms of experience, he shows unusual sophistication in his approach at the plate, Davis says. And his power is off the charts.

"He hits balls as far as anybody that we have here right now (in minor-league camp), and he's still extremely young," Davis says. "But the other thing too is he seems to have the 'hit-ability' type gene as well. He doesn't strike out very much. He's similar to his dad, where he covers an awfully large strike zone. He creates his own strike zone sometimes, but he's able to handle that. And his eye for breaking pitches is pretty good for that age."
Quote:
But there seems to be little doubt that Guerrero could move quickly through the ranks. He certainly seems to think so. Last July, shortly after he signed, the Jays brought him to the Rogers Centre for batting practice before a game. On that day, he predicted he would be in the big leagues in two years.

"Typically, a kid that age would stay in the Dominican Summer League or maybe get to the Gulf Coast League," Tinnish says. "I just think he's certainly more physically and mentally mature than that. But we'll see."

That article gave me chills. This kid is very quickly becoming my favorite athlete.

To not only embrace the city/country, but represent it the way he does? It's pretty remarkable. Can't wait to see the ovation he gets tonight.

Guerrero Jr and Anthony Alford are the two Jays prospects that I am most excited about. I am hoping they get sent to the Vancouver Canadians at some point this summer and I can see them live.

Guerrero Jr. is probably the most excited i've been for a Jays prospect in a decade. I think he'd going to mash.

And on a side note, #### Boston. Good lord I hate that team, their trashy fans, and the joke of a stadium they play in. Can't wait to hopefully clobber them this weekend. Really looking forward to this weekend series. I have some friends in Toronto that says downtown Toronto is electric this afternoon. Everyone get boozed up before heading over to the game.

Great opportunity for the Jays bats to come alive here in the next 3 days. Sox are trotting out 3 mediocre/below average starters, in the dome. On paper this looks like it could get ugly.

I can always appreciate a good Red Sox hate. Nothing is worse than the 4 hour garbage games that the Red Sox and Yankees play.

I really hope the Jays destroy them.

Osuna pitched for the Canadians when he was 17, Guerrero Jr is 17 as well so I feel like its possible.

JD in the lineup tonight, at DH. Barney taking over the duties at 3B and Edwin at 1B.

If JD is hurt enough he can't play 3rd, keep him out of the goddamn lineup. Man that's frustrating. I know this is a big series against the a division rival and the home opener, but come on man, we're 4 games into the season and there's more than enough fire power already. Will the Jays medical/training staff ever learn?

Ya i don't understand that either. If he can't run then what's the point?

Might be because of the new surface at Rogers Center. Maybe Donaldson says he's good to go, but the staff are thinking he should avoid the new surface just in case the infield isn't perfect for this first game (or even series). It's supposed to be softer and easier on the players than before, but its a wildcard for sure right now.

Will you be singing the same tune when the Jays miss out on the playoffs by a game? If JD is ready to roll he'll play, nothing wrong with him going DH.

He's not ready to roll or he'd be playing third base against a division rival after having an off day. Give him a game off to heal correctly. It's one game in a 162 game season. I'd rather have him miss a game or two and heal that injury up than have it flare up and he misses a couple of months.

IMO, he is only playing because it's the home opener. Any other game and he sits. I wish he was sitting.
