They could throw money at the industry, but what does that gain long term? I have no problem with a royalty review, this is something that should have been done quite a few years ago. She is the energy minister but I'm not exactly sure what you are looking for her to tell people. Oil prices are in the gutter, oil companies are laying people of because of it. You don't like that she is talking about the environment however energy and environment are tied together right now.
The biggest problem I have is the fact that whatever this government does they will be criticized because they are the NDP. Just like the fact that many of the ministers don't have experience in the field that they are controlling, yet it's been like that for a long, long time. The Farmers complaining is another example, these are the types of regulations that should have been in place prior to this year, they are in place in other provinces yet it's going to kill the family farms. The local media feeds this anger, and it's getting quite pathetic.

I would agree with you if the NDP was acting at all like a competent government that was generating faith and confidence.
Yes, absolutely the long running PC government has to take a big bite out of a crap sandwich and feel the juices running down their chin while they take a long walk in the desert of re-invention.
But lets look at this government and what they've done to inspire confidence.
They're now ramming through Bill 6 after doing an exceedingly poor job of talking to the very people that its going to effect. Their town hall meetings were almost designed to discourage communication of what this bill will do with the people that it will effect. And then they go in which is their right to do and kill any debate on the bill and ram it through. Sounds a lot like the arrogant Conservatives.
They hold up their budget to support the Federal NDP and not cost them votes, this creates uncertainty in the Oil Patch. Pretty Self Serving
During an economic crisis in this province they have key members of the government out campaigning for the Federal NDP some in other provinces
Notley telling people to settle down, wrong message
Showing their sympathy for the unemployed by telling them basically that they have no plans or ideas so they should move to BC
A key portfolio minister talking to energy people about her number one concern which is the Caribou.
Having a NDP fundraiser where you can buy tickets and get exclusive access to the Premiere and cabinet members.
Giving pay raises to senior bureaucrats and ironically booking a trip for government members to a christmas time conference in Boston about government ethics.
Instituting a carbon tax that wasn't campaigned on during the election, and not even talked about as part of their platform.
This isn't about the poor NDP everyone is picking on them. this is about the poor NDP, they seem to enjoy stepping on their genitalia with golf spikes.
Look I get it, they didn't expect to win this election, they didn't have a full slate of candidates so they grabbed people with no experience and none relevant education and air dropped them, but now they're paying for it and Notley when she's not looking incredibly arrogant she's looking flustered.
When you have a MLA taunting the opposition and the people that your bill is effecting when you ram it through the house you have a problem.
