Stampeders 2016 draft picks:
Round 1 (6) Alex Singleton- 6'2" 233lbs. LB Montana State University. Signed as an undrafted free agent by New England Patriots in 2015 then were released. He then signed with Seattle Seahawks but were released in December 2015 and signed with Minnesota Vikings. He was just released by the Vikings last month. Alex were born in California and I couldn't find a reference of a reason why he is eligible on this year's CFL Draft. Maybe one of his parents is a Canadian or at least born in Canada.
Round 2 (15) Juwan Brescacin - 6'4" WR from Northern Illinois. Another tall receiver for the Stampeders. He got picked after Hamilton picked RB Mercer Timmis of U of C.
Round 4 (33) Roman Grozman - 6'4" Left Tackle from Concordia. Grozman was born in Israel and his family moved to Canada while he was still in his teen. He participated in East-West Shrine Bowl last year and he was projected as a high draft pick this year, possibly in the 1st or 2nd round. Not sure why his stock dropped to 4th round. Looks like another steal for the Stamps if those people projected him as a high pick are correct.
Round 5 Back-to-back Laval players. (33) Jean Philippe Bolduc 6'1" DB and (42) Pierre-Luc Caron-LB. I don't have much info on these guys.
Round 6 (51) Michael Kashak - 6'1" DL from McMaster Marauders.
Round 8 (68) Quinn Horton - 6'4" 313 lbs DL from Simon Fraser University. He's been an All Star player before he started playing for SFU. Big nasty Defensive Lineman were invited in this year CFL Combine.
University of Calgary Dinosaurs players drafted this year:
Round 2 (14) Mercer Timmis - RB chosen by Hamilton
Round 3 (23) Brett Blaszko - 6'4" WR chosen by BC Lions
Round 3 (24) Elie Bouka - DB chosen by Saskatchewan
Round 5 (36) Alex Ogbongbemiga - LB chosen by Saskatchewan

His mom was born in Toronto. For those unfamiliar with who Singleton is, give Justin Dunks article from a weeks back a read.

If he can play right away, he is going to be an awesome ratio-breaker that might solidify our secondary position.

The new Adidas uniforms are released, subtle changes to the stamps.
Quote:
New number font (now the same Western-style font used on Outlaw jerseys)
Stampeders wordmark on black pants with red trim
Slightly altered black trim on sleeves
New CFL logo at the base of the collar
|
I like them - glad they kept the outlaw third. Awesome jersey.

Riders = Blegh again.
Blue bombers look great.

Also gives he hope the NHL re branding won't be as drastic as I thought it would be.

Hope? The Flames have arguably the worst jersey in the league. Time for a complete overhaul.

I don't want to siderail the CFL thread into another NHL/Flames jersey overhaul but i'll clarify that the classic NHL uniforms won't be overhauled into the 3 stripe pattern that Adidas is known for.

Redblacks have #Rnation on the pants. Not sure I like having a hashtag incorporated into a uniform.

No real complaints. They all look ok. Not a huge fan of the fact that several of them look like exact templates of each other.
Glad so see some of the busier ones have been simplified. That's an improvement.

Bombers and Eskimos are huge winners. Both went simpler and traditional. The Eskimos away whites are nice and simple, and the esks numbers and lettering us a simple solid color with an outline
Bombers home uniforms are sick and the best looking in pro football as far as I'm concerned
Edit nm Eskimos still have a black shadow under the numbers

I like that the Stamps' changes were minor, and they got rid of two things I've never liked: The awful font on the numbers they've used for the last few years, and the cartoon horse inside the horseshoe alternate logo on the white jerseys.
I thought the Als were most in need of a uniform refresh, but they're the one who changed the least.
The Lions new homes look nice, but I don't really like their roads. Too much orange, not enough black.

I'd have preferred they kept the horseshoe logo and gotten rid of the black helmets.

Mostly pretty minor changes which is nice. Riders are a slight improvement with the white continuing up the sleeve more. Bombers and Ticats are by far the nicest, those are both super nice. Stamps will be a fresh look with the new lettering (though personally I would have lessened the amount of black on their red jersey).
all in all I think they all look good and Adidas really started off well! Good day for football!

I agree that all the jersey's look pretty good. Simpler is better. The only one that is a little disappointing is Saskatchewan. I don't like the all green pajama look. Bombers jersey is the best by far. They are going to make a fortune selling that!
