It's official now. Sounds like there will be two friendlies later in the year in November to give her a send off.

Love seeing the WNT play in Halifax. And if Wanderers Grounds is good enough for a friendly, so is Spruce Meadows...

One last time. Thank you Christine Sinclair

One of the greatest Canadian athletes of all time, the greatest Canadian footballer of all time. The top scorer in international football, men or women.

Thank you for inspiring a country

Definitely some onions last night. 557 caps for the national team between Sinclair and Schmidt. National team won't be the same without them.

ESPN did a list of top women's soccer players of 21st century and Sinclair was 13th.

Given it came from ESPN, and given the dominance of the USWNT I expected many more Americans. I haven't heard of many of the players on this list.

Stay classy, Canada. If the IOC had any balls, they'd kick Canada out of the tournament.

Yeah that's pretty embarrassing.

They will act like they didn't know this lady was doing it, she will be banned, and nothing else will happen for now though.

Donovan Bailey? Did you mean Ben Johnson? This is nothing like that.

Bev Priestman suspended for the opener and two assistant coaches banned for the entire Olympics and sent home. Great job on casting a terrible pall on the Olympics, Canada. Turns out it was separate two drone incidents, not just one.

"The Canadian Olympic Committee says women's soccer assistant coach Jasmine Mander and Canada Soccer analyst Joseph Lombardi have been removed from the Canadian Olympic team and sent home after two drone incidents at the Paris Games.

The COC also says it has accepted the decision of head coach Bev Priestman to remove herself from coaching the team's opening game against New Zealand on Thursday.

The committee statement comes after a review of a drone incident in Saint-Etienne, France on Monday and a second drone incident at a New Zealand practice last Friday.

The COC also says that Canada Soccer staff will undergo mandatory ethics training."

I, for one, am deeply entertained by the Bill Belichicking of women's soccer at the Olympics. It's about time.

Canada are lucky to still be in this tournament. Priestman may not have directed this, but she needs to go. This will hang over the team no matter what result they achieve.

The stupiest part is what really do you have to gain by filming a practice. This isn't the NFL where it's a game of individual plays that reset where a game plan and predicting the exact play they are going to call is important.

I doubt there is anything you could gain from filming that practice that you couldn't get from watching game film.

Who would have thought a bunch of teenagers are in charge because that’s about the mentality and level of sophistication.
