3 teams with the gap the Wild had going into february have made the playoffs in the past 10 years for a reason. You can have as much momentum as you want..until you actually move ahead of the team holding the final seed, it means nothing.
Dubnyk is starting to leak.

Hopefully the Jets will stick it to them next game, to kill some of their hope.

I'm all for either of those teams losing. Wouldn't mind seeing a Jets loss

It would just make me breathe a bit easier if the teams that are currently out of it could just stay dead.

Calgary: 12 games remaining against teams currently in the playoffs.
San Jose: 14
Vancouver: 15
Winnipeg: 17
Minnesota: 18
Los Angeles: 19
Dallas: 20
Of the teams chasing us we play LA twice, Vancouver once, Winnipeg once, Minnesota twice, and Dallas twice.
Two big road trips, a 7-game eastern swing and a 5 gamer through the Midwest and Edmonton.
Our destiny is very much in our own hands.

Calgary is likely in even if they only earn one point more than .500 the rest of the way.
29 out of 56 points should do it.
Time to start thinking about home ice. Right now the most likely seed is 6.

Winnipeg has a real tough divisional schedule remaining as well. They have two left against Minny and one each against Dallas and Colorado. But one game against the Hawks (thank god), two against Nashville and FOUR left against the Blues. They are going to be hard pressed to keep those teams just outside the playoffs off their heels.
We are actually nearly done with four-point divisional games. Only two against LA and one against Vancouver left. Anaheim (x2) is out of our reach and Arizona and Edmonton (1x each) are buried. But we have a bunch of games left against the Central and the Eastern Conference.

Flames missed with 94 points, iirc, not so long ago.
32 of 56 better for in, 38 for home ice

Just hope for Montreal to get to Cup Final. We got their number.

Not a large leak...
7 straight wins, 3 by shutout (including 2 of last three)
Wild will make it in, so someone else will have to go.

Minnesota hasn't been terrible this year, just their goaltending has been stinky. 4th worst save pct on the league. Turrible.
They don't score a tonne however, and Dubnyk has shown no history to make me think he'll continue this much longer. I don't see them making up the points

I think they will most likely supplant Winnipeg in the playoff standings. Amazing how good Dubnyk can be with competent defensive play in front him.

That's the problem with small sample sizes. Nothing suggests that Dubnyk can keep this up indefinitely. But with only 30 games left, he could well keep it up long enough to pull the Wild right into a playoff spot. If Minnesota beats Winnipeg in regulation tonight, all bets are off.
Also, I will be going to that Minnesota-Winnipeg game on the last week of the season. Would be pretty amazing to see if those two teams ended up in something of a 'win and you are in' match-up.

John Shannon @JSportsnet
Chuck Fletcher confirms that Jason Zucker has a broken clavicle. Out at least 3 months. Surgery later this week.

I really thought, in the game against the Flames, that Zucker was the proverbial straw that was stirring the Wild drink.
His speed was the genesis of so much of their offense.

Did you disregard everything else I said? Do you realize how unlikely and rare it is for a team to get in when more than 4 points out in February? Are this years Wild one of that small percentile (4th team in a decade)? Somehow I doubt it.
The Wild aren't in yet, and they haven't even caught Vancouver. So absolutely nothing is guaranteed.
