Mark Lee saying "disaster for the Oilers" in the 2nd video should be reason enough to hire him.

I think he says, "Jarome Iginla's mobbed."

Mark Lee kinda sounds somewhere in between Jim Hughson and Bob Cole, and those two are my favorite PBP broadcasters. I really don't get the whole "his voice doesn't sound like hockey" point either.

^ I was at all 3 of those games!
I like Loubo, and I have criticized Lee's professionalism on a couple instances, but yeah, I don't see how fans could be disappointed if he's the guy.
As someone said, we would go from bottom third to top third in the league for coverage.

The Oil apparently are making changes too...lol
RCN @RossCreekNation · 4h
As per @JasonGregor, Louie Debrusk won't return as colourman for Sportsnet Oilers games, with Drew Remenda his likely replacement.
I don't see the tweet by Leslie anymore either.

lol - Remenda might be the only guy in the business that is more of a homer / apologist than Debrusk

I agree. Actually John Davidson, Scotty Bowman and others did some colour commentating too with Ed Whalen. I think people just get tired of hearing the same two people talking all the time with Loubardias & Simmer, then Kerr & Simmer game in and game out. If they have different colour guy every 2-3 games, people won't get sick of it.

Yep, it was nice when the color guys did a circuit, or would be dependent on where the Flames were playing. I'd be OK with a return to that, for sure.

Isn't Remenda that super-Sharks homer? As if Edmonton couldn't get more annoying, they find a way to be.

"According to sources, Rick Ball — who does play-by-play for the sports radio station’s B.C. Lions and Vancouver Canucks broadcasts — will be leaving Vancouver to take on a similar position with Rogers Sportsnet in Calgary, where he’ll call the Flames TV games in the coming season."

Amazing amazing news.
Ball is a fantastic play by play guy. Maybe 2nd best in the business behind Chris Cuthbert. Great cadence, easy to listen to, knowledgeable, not a giant homer. The complete package.

Also this sets up nicely for Ball as a future western voice of HNIC should Bob Cole ever retire.
