Sick shot shinkaruk, You had almost an inkling of a sliver of net to shoot at, those two teammates in front of the net wouldn't have had nearly as good a chance to score

Shrinkydink isn't going to make it in the NHL.
One dimensional guys whose own teammates can't stand him. Glad the Flames passed on him.

He's just another Pavel Brendl. Another one dimensional player with an ego his skills can't match.

Maybe if we all start showing up to Flames games in Split's jerseys, we can force change.

Petan wins it in OT over Vancouver with a beautiful move to his backhand.

Don't know how he got that kind of leverage on the puck after being hit.

Good for him. He's still an entitled cocky player that I'm glad we stayed away from.

No, that's true, he's easy to dislike being a rival fan.
Part of the reason why Petan scored in OT was because Shinkaruk was complaining to the ref in the offensive zone.

It's only tolerable to have a cocky player like that if that guy is Patrick Kane. Anything less than that, and it'd be better to have more of a team player.

Even with Patrick Kane (who I think has been less cocky in recent years - especially after his drunken weekend and seeing his reaction after hearing of his Grandfather's death), I've never heard any stories about him being a bad teammate.
I've heard stories about Shinkaruk refusing to make a line change even after the coach calls him back to the bench (at the Subway Series I think?), and him only putting effort in when there is a scoring chance.

I met and spent quite a bit of time with the Petan family over the weekend in Penticton. Got to chat quite a bit about Nick. Also, his mom is pretty easy on the eyes. Great people. I gained a huge respect for the kid. Wish him well.

Not surprised, Canucks fans help bring it upon themselves. From reading on other forums they always seem to say things like "Shinkaruk is going to make Calgary regret passing on him" etc, as if Calgary was the only team that passed on him.
Shinkaruk is a great prospect, I just hate that Canucks fans always bring him and Calgary up at the same time.
