FYI, Jim Jamieson, a canucks beat writer just tweeted that he just spoke with Feaster and he said he was NOT at the airport today.

Larry Brooks posted on April 5th that Torts had been spreading the word that Feaster is a GM he can work with. A lot of these rumours coming out today have been there for a while.

Drafting has been good IMO (Jankowski pick is a minus but he is showing signs).
Cleared out the teams bad contracts and gave us flexibility and cap space with a decent young prospect base in the 3 full years he had here. Also was instrumental in building the positive culture that is around this team currently.

I agree, overall he was pretty decent, not great but acceptable. The O'Reilly mistake though I said at the time that he needed to be fired for that mistake. Doesn't matter what else he did with the team, a mistake of that magnitude, even though it ended up being avoided, is a fire-able offense. Doesn't mean he won't learn from that in the future, but that future needed to be with another team.

Agreed
Besides the O'Reilly thing and the Jankowski pick, which could still pan out, Feaster turned a team that was terrible at drafting and developing into a team that is on its way to creating its own success through this process as can been seen in recent games. That is key in today's NHL and he started this team down this right path I think.

You could argue he drove the Flames into the ground but to be fair to Feaster, Sutter handed the steering wheel over with the team in a full nose dive only 100M above the ground.

It was probably Kristin Hallett dressed in a plaid shirt with suspenders. Time for Steve to hand in his badge and his gun.... You're off the case Stryker!

If Feaster wasn't at the airport, I really wish Steve had gone up to the guy in a plaid shirt and suspenders and started talking hockey with him.

Jim Jamieson @JamiesonCanucks 7m
Just spoke with Jay Feaster. He was NOT at the Calgary airport, has NOT heard from Van re GM job, but loves Torts and wants back into NHL.

Same. Doubly so since it'd look like he'd be walking into the same impossible situation he walked into here. I wish no ill will towards the man and thought once ownership finally realized that a rebuild was required that he did pretty good work.

I have a hard time believing that a CP poster could mistake some random stranger for Feaster.

As for Feaster being the replacement for gillis, I am a bit of a Feaster kool-aid drinker, so I would not like to see that happen. If it does though, it would be nice if Burke could fleece him in a trade.

Steve has proved himself an accomplished stalker in the past, so I trust his word here.

For what though? The only good player on the team is Kesler, and hes a straight up doosh.

I'm not really interested in debating if Feaster was good. He was canned for a reason. I'm just glad it was before one of his blunders cost us more.

Dammit, and now StrykerSteve is probably on his plane now, so we won't be able to hear his explanation of this for the next while...
