I like Horvat as I feel he will play in the NHL but his junior numbers don't translate to being close to a superstar. Think 2/3 line tweener.

As an avid Flames fan. I feel comfortable in saying that is ridiculously pathetic. Although their tandems have more upside. But not much as it's never anything to go on until potential is realized.

Why trade for an aging goalie? Do they think the will be contenders in the next 3 years? They've got some pieces in Barkov and Huberdeau, but they will be a few more years.

They really need to sell some tickets there.

So does this mean Florida will crawl out of the bottom 3 with Luo?

ya I dont think anyone expects a 1st line center
his 'ceiling' guys were saying at the draft is a Kesler/Bergeron type
which is an elite two way 2nd line center
if he gets to that everyone will be thrilled, but even in that best canse scenario he's not a 80+ point guy I dont think anyone in their wildest dreams expects

Markstrom looks freakishly similar to Erik Karlsson.

The Oilers tandem has posted much better stats than the Flames tandem so its a case of them being better to begin with, plus having potential.

He's probably going to be a useful player for sure and more probably rides on Shinkaruk as he has the higher offensive ceiling and higher bust factor. If both of those guys pan out it will make a huge difference for the Canucks but they are both a few years away at least as we thought Baertschi was ready a year ago after tearing up the WHL and he's in the AHL.

I think the Oilers tandem is better but playing behind the Kings and Ducks has a way of making stats look better then a full season with the Oilers.

Which one has this "potential"? The 27 year old career backup or the 31 year old backup? Just asking seeing the Flames goaltenders are younger and yet over the hill by the context of your post.
