I'm not sold on Bryzgalov, nor do I think we should get a better veteran goalie at this point.

However, I do see a point in getting a better one at some point, if neither Berra nor Rämö can't give us a relatively consistent decent goalie performances and a few good ones here and there.

If the team starts feeling that every mistake ends in it's own net, they can become afraid to take risks, leading to passive play, which in the current NHL tends to be a killer. Also, constant losses after a good effort can be really bad for the teams confidence, making them think they are worse than they actually are.

Because of the relaxed AHL Roster limits, they could scratch MacDonald behind an Ortio/Brossoit tandem or have him back up the starter (Ortio or Brossoit) and have the other play games in the ECHL.

More likely, all 5 goalies rotate around the three tiers for the next little to keep the developing goalies all getting a reasonable number of starts:

Ramo stays in the NHL because of his waiver status and potential
Berra/MacDonald move between the AHL and NHL (Berra is on an Entry Deal, Mac has passed waivers already so wouldn't have to for a while)
Brossoit and Ortio move between the ECHL and AHL (Or up to the NHL if either earns a look)
