Scott Brooks flat out cannot coach. How can you lose to the Grizzilies with two young studs in KD and Westbrook? The ending of tonight's game was amazing.
Because the Western Conference is brutal. Brooks is not a great coach and is likely to be fired (and replaced by Kevin Ollie) should they not win it all this year. But Memphis is a very good team. In the East they'd probably win against every team, even Miami, who would badly struggle with their size. Memphis is made for the playoffs.
Oh yeah the East sucks if I didn't make that clear. Miami might end up having to beat the 6,7 and 8 seeds to win. Brutal road for them. This is of course why the Big 3 is going nowhere. Really nobody in the East is close to challenging them. In the West they'd be the 4 seed right now.

It is refreshing to see an organization act so swiftly and justly against racism and bigotry.
That is what this is on the surface, and that is what it will be played up as being. But truthfully, this is simply a cold, hard business decision. The NBA was facing an open revolt from the players and sponsors if it didn't go to this extreme. Still very much the right decision though.
Quote:
I hope the NBA has a clause that can force Sterling to sell the Clippers to the NBA and they can decide who will purchase the team moving forward and not Sterling.
The NBA likely does, however we will most certainly see that challenged in court, I think. The difficulty in comparing to what MLB did with Marge Schott is the fact that the NBA does not have an anti-trust exemption like baseball. If Sterling wishes to make a fight of it, this could be years - if not a decade - away from resolution.
The Warriors players had a devised a plan that if they went through with it would’ve been one for the history books. The plan was to go through the pre-game festivities Tuesday night, then take the floor for the opening tip. Dap the Clippers starters, as is customary, and get in position for the jump ball.
As soon as it was tossed, point guard Stephen Curry said his team was going to walk off the floor in protest. All of them.
“It would have been our only chance to make a statement in front of the biggest audience that we weren’t going to accept anything but the maximum punishment,” Curry said. “We would deal with the consequences later but we were not going to play.”
Thanks to Adam Silver, that boycott plan was boycotted. The new NBA commissioner’s punishment of Clippers owner Donald Sterling for his bigoted comments — a lifetime ban and forced sale of the franchise—appeased the fury of the players.
i would assume this would be uber-illegal and breaking many union/CBA rules in place. Would have been downright crazy to see happen though.
Because the Western Conference is brutal. Brooks is not a great coach and is likely to be fired (and replaced by Kevin Ollie) should they not win it all this year.
Brooks just let KD and Westbrook go 1 on 1 last night. OKC was lucky that Memphis choked and gave up double digit leads late in the last two games or they would have been out of the playoff by now.
The West is about as crazy as anything I've ever seen in sports. Other than Portland going up 3-1 and should win the series. The other three series are either tied or 3-2 with the higher seeded teams having no advantage at all.
I would say it will be Portland, Clippers, Memphis and SA going through.
I almost forgot that Derek Fisher plays for OKC, can't stand him flopping and hanging on the coatail of superstars to get rings. It's fine by me if OKC losses in the first round.
So far I've heard Oprah, Mayweather and De La Hoya mulling bids on the Clippers. It will be a great story if a minority should be the new owner of the team.
Let's assume the guy doesn't care about losing millions holding on to the team out of spite (very possible IMO). How would the NBA force him to sell it? Certainly interesting. I'm more interested in how this plays out legally. I don't care one way or another the colour of any blowhard who ends up owning it. Legally it has the potential for more entertainment value than the NBA on court product.
Stan Van Gundy, Byron Scott, Quinn Snyder, and Ettore Messina are rumoured candidates for the Lakers coaching job. Ettore Messina is also a rumoured candidate for the vacant Utah Jazz coaching job.
These playoffs have been good as all three teams tonight forced a game 7s, which will happen on Saturday. Another three could come Sunday if everything aligns tomorrow tonight. Can't wait for Saturday and hopefully Sunday!
Will Paul George get suspended for Game 7? He left the bench during an altercation and as we all know from the Suns a few years ago, that should be a suspension. It's very close and should probably never be a suspension...but by the literal interpretation of the rule, he should be suspended.

Something that could be broken in the first round or at some point in these playoffs, The NBA stated today they have never had more than 5 game 7s in an entire playoff season before.
