I read somewhere a 16GB will be selling for $639.99 US at Walmart. $719 here. So roughly a $50-$60 difference depending on dollar. However if there's a possibility of frequency issues, which is what I was wondering about, I'll just get one here.
Which after doing some googling find out it isn't accurate anyway. Walmart will only be offering a small discount on the phone on a contract with Verizon. Nevertheless, it's still 50 some odd bucks cheaper at Apple stores down there.
I think this time it's ok, the US/Canada models seem to be the same and support the same bands as long as you get a A1533. The Sprint one is even a bit better with an extra band (that doesn't matter in Canada), but I doubt you could buy one unlocked from Sprint.
Just landed a deal with Rogers today. $60 for unlimited talk/text/picture messaging/CID/VM in North America, and 3GB LTE data with the 32GB iPhone 5 for $150 on a 2 year deal. I think I did well. It would've been a $50 plan but I opted for 3GB instead of 1GB in case of overages. The 5S wasn't worth the markup on $70+ plans for me to dive into for 2 years.
Considering the current 1GB (+1GB special) plan with unlimited everything else is $85 a month, I'd say you did quite well.
My contract is up on November 3rd, and Rogers has not offered me anything yet in regards to specials for renewing my contract. They've only sent me reminders about their normal programs...guess I'm gonna have to call in to retentions to get a good deal.
EDIT: I should probably add that my wife and I were considering consolidating our plans together to save some money, but Bell kept sending her such good offers (and her contract was up in February!) that she went with a cheap plan on Bell instead.

I think retentions is only open with Rogers during the weekdays so you may want to give them a shot first thing Monday. I actually nailed this plan after speaking with them for literally 2 hours on my mothers' behalf (I'm currently w/ Telus), and they offered the same plan as her for me. It was a deal I couldn't refuse. I passed up a steal for employee plan with a friend of a friend who worked for Bell a few months ago, which was the best deal ever - new phone upgrade free every year, 500 mins talk, text/vm/cid, 16GB LTE data (crazy huh?), and I passed on it holding out for the possibility that the new iPhone would be special. All for $50+tax monthly.

I think they have a skeleton crew on off-hours and weekends but that may have changed.
I'm getting a little leery about retentions. It sounds like they really tightened things up. I was able to qualify for a smartphone 3 years ago with only a $27/month voice and data plan.

Is the burst camera thing an iOS7 thing or a iPhone 5s thing? In other words, will iPhone 5 with iOS7 have the new burst camera feature?
Edit: I apologize, fleury (below) is correct. It wasn't expected, but it looks like that feature will make it in to the older phones. The report I read even said 4's and 4S's get it.
5s thing. That is a phone feature that only the 5s will have. Check out Snappy Cam if you're interested. It's a cool little app that does the same sort of thing. It won't intelligently select which photo it thinks you'll want, but you can scrub through a bunch of them, select your favourite, and export.

A coworker of mine has the developer iOS7 on his 5, and the latest version had burst mode on it, which I thought was a 5S exclusive, but apparently not - I witnessed it myself being on the 5.

Just asking for clarification. When you say you have unlimited talk/text etc in North America, does this mean you have roaming anywhere in North America or you can call and text to anyone in North America?
The market isn't liking the lack of news on 5C pre-orders (the first time in years Apple didn't announce early sales). Presumably there will be news once the 5S is available but until then everyone reads whatever they want into this.
Of course I'm the first one to complain about how invested we become in these companies' sales and profits not just the products......

Calling to anyone in North America. I don't think they'd ever give me roaming!

Seems pretty clear why they wouldn't release the numbers. The 5S doesn't even have a pre-order option, and of most people I know probably 80% aren't even thinking about the 5C. The 5C will do great with people like my wife or my mom, but those aren't people that preorder tech. Of course the market likely doesn't agree. The market it weird.
