Great trade. Even better signing at $1.25 mil!
Now Feaster, isn't that a lot better than offering Comeau a 2 year deal?

The secret is to remove the feathers first. Most people who eat crow forget that.
Feathers are for sticking in your cap when you're right. Doesn't mean you have to eat them when you're wrong.

something that might have been lost in the thread is that Galiardi wanted to be here. It was his #1 choice. I like to hear that players want to come her despite the rebuild that's going on. If flames can keep doing what they're doing in terms of goodwill, we may be able to attract some good players when we're ready to push for a cup.

Love to see these players on our team.

It is good to see. Though, part of me wonders that if this is not by design by the Flames, or them even being forced into it.
While the organizational reputation seems to be taking a pretty big hit in the past year or so around the league/with agents/players, Feaster and Co. target players that have ties to the area, and are thus more willing to come here.
Much better plan than going after players ala the 2007-current Oilers and those players you have to try and do a hard sell that "things will be better next year/if you come here", players who are really not wanting come here as a UFA or willing to waive a NTC to come here as option 1, 2, or 3...5 year ago yes, but with a lot of the issues going on with the team, respectfully passing on the Flames until they get their crap together.
Hopefully these players turn the pride in playing for the hometown into career years and help the team back into some sort of semblance of a team, at least on the ice...the upper offices still have a lot of image makeover IMO.

The cynic in me says it's by design—
If you have a good offence, the fans will cheer for goals.
If you have a good defence, the fans will cheer for wins.
If you have neither, play the organ louder and sign hometown kids.

Known TJ since he was about 6, he played several years minor hockey with my younger brother in fact. Very happy with this deal, he's a heck of a character player and we gave up beans to get him. A steal of a deal and a great rate on the signing. Love everything about this.
We haven't talked in awhile but many of my friends keep in contact with him, I'll try to have him at least have a look at this thread.

“We are thrilled to add a young player with TJ’s size and versatility to our line-up,” said Flames General Manager Jay Feaster. “He can play Left Wing or Center, he competes hard, is a very good energy player, and he is only 25-years old. The fact that he is from Calgary, lives here in the off-season and played for the Hitmen is an added bonus, as he is yet another player who is excited to be part of our program going forward.”

So the Sharks basically traded McGinn, Sgarbossa, and Connolly for a 4th. Horrible horrible asset management.

I think Cammy is probably all but gone, if not before pre-season, definitely by the trade deadline. I, for the life of me, can't see why so many want Glencross out. One of the best contract values in the league, plays gritty, can score goals and doesn't seem to be a locker room problem at all. He does take some bad penalties but lets lot pretend his Rene Bourque. Unless you get a great deal for Gio, I think he needs to stay as well. We have a lot of question marks after Wideman, Gio, and Brodie, and your not going to get the return for Jordano that you would've for Giordano.

It's no coincidence that we played better and more aggressive when Grats came back. He's not a guy that is going to be in the lineup every night anyways. If anyone is irrelevant now, it's Jackman.

First time in how many years where hockey fans outside of Calgary thought the other team got fleeced?
