You seem confused, is he or isn't he retired? Until he does its hearsay, unofficial, rumours.
I couldn't care less one way or the other if he does, but fact is as of now he ISN'T retired. I don't understand the basis of your argument. Alcohol?
Edit: and to add to that, I'm not relying on semantics, like you suggest, but fact. As of right now he hasn't retired. Later today? Maybe, right now? No
Remember how I mentioned how obsessed you were about semantics?
Thanks for proving my point.
Perhaps you need a refresh on the definition of "was", you seem confused... http://m.dictionary.com/d/?q=was
He has said he is retired, let that sink in. You are quite literally saying that if Kipper says he's retired (he has) then it's just an unofficial rumour. But if the Flames say he's retired, then he's retired.
I'm going to live my life based on your gaping grade-school logic.
Someone tells me they went to the zoo? RUMOUR!
Zoo says they were there?
FACT!
Someone says "I had a kid!"?
RUMOUR
Hospital says they had a kid?
FACT!
My wife says she picked up groceries?
RUMOUR
The grocery store calls to tell me she picked up groceries?
FACT!
What's it like to be you? It seems hard being unable to trust the most reliable source for information.
Hey, I thought if Kipper said he was retired, he was retired.
But, my bad, shouldn't trust the player like that. Just a dirty rumour I guess. I didn't know a rumour about a player's decision could be created from the player stating his decision.

Great logic kiddo.
Even if he did say he is retiring, that doesn't make him retired. Kiddo
Feaster also said around the draft, or shortly thereafter, that if there had already been a deadline for a decision from Kipper, the decision would be retirement. The Flames are trying to outwait him to see if he'll change his mind.
Papers are not filed, so in that sense the retirement is not official. But no one had said he is playing this upcoming season, either. He's in limbo, but only because the Flames are hoping for him to change his mind.

It doesn't make it a rumour either. It makes it a sourced statement, and from the strongest possible source — Kiprusoff himself.
It may perhaps have escaped your notice that 'retiring' is not the same thing as 'filing formal retirement papers with the NHL'. A player can retire from playing hockey without ever filing papers. Retiring is a matter of not playing anymore. Filing papers is a matter of contract and pension status.

Ah, so you're admitting that the title of this article "Kipper is retiring", which you requested to be qualified as 'rumour' is actually not a rumour at all, but rather a fact, as Kipper has indeed said he is retired (or retiring, if you prefer).
You've suddenly changed this from rumour vs. fact, to "retiring vs. retired".
Keep playing those semantics to pretend like you have a point to make, now you're just tripping on yourself.
Chief.

Funny, I don't remember ever requesting a change of any title in my life. Unless you call likeing a post requesting it?
And all I ever said was that it isn't official. You are the one that said he is retired. Troll

Oh yeah, my bad, I wasn't really paying attention and just assumed that you had requested it since you proceeded to adamantly insist on the information as being rumour, going so far as to contradict yourself and feign points using semantics and suggestion rather than depending on the actual facts to make your point.
My bad.
We can go over this all day, you said it's a rumour, it's not. Plain and simple, the end.

FYI I "liked" his post because I keep looking in here for new information. So yeah, wrong again troll. And yeah, we can argue all day, but at the end of the day he still isn't retired. All we have is a newspaper article from Finland that says he will be, and an article from the Calgary sun, from someone close to Kipper, that says there is still a chance he plays.

Wrong about what? Everything I said in what you quoted that was spot on. I really don't care why you liked a post. Like every post, like none of the posts, like every status on Facebook, really not sure why you need to bring up how into liking posts you are
The difference between your reference points? The article from Finland quotes Kipper.
If you can't tell the difference between Kipper and "someone" then I see how loose you are with your knowledge and information.

Everything you said was not spot on, I didn't request any changes to this title and Kiprusoff isn't officially retired (at least right now). But tell your mom you were right, if that makes you feel better. I'm done arguing with you.

I worked with a lot of guys that said they were going to retire and they changed their minds. That's all I meant.

And I said I made a mistake when I claimed you had requested the change, I then said you went on to defend it as a rumour.
Grow up man. If you need to change your story to make it seem like you somehow came out of this without looking confused, go crazy. Be done with arguing with me by not arguing with me, you just look like a child if you have to tell me you're doing it.
I mean, according to your logic, you aren't officially done arguing with me, it's just a rumour
Then you should have said that, instead of trying to convince us that a verbatim quote from Kiprusoff is on the same level as an unsourced rumour.
Anyway, 'I worked with a lot of guys...' is irrelevant in this case, unless one of those guys happens to be Kiprusoff himself.
I'm not trying to convince you of anything. I believe there is a 99.9 percent chance he retires, it's not a big secret. All I'm saying is people do change their minds, and until its 100 percent it's not done.
As far as my definition of "rumour", I was using it the same as hearsay/unofficial, which I said in many posts if you actually read all that bickering.
The thing is with Kipper back, he could actually play a reduced schedule this year with the low expectations. Lot's of chance for one of the other Goalies to shine.
I bet you said pretty much the same last year.
He had a light work load and #### the bed. Hell it was was worse than ####ting the bad, he managed to get it all over the floor, walls and ceiling too.

That's true; you don't seem to have a very solid grip on 'hearsay' or 'unofficial' either. Inigo Montoya to the white courtesy phone!

Considering I learnt to write English second, when I was 14 or so I do not too bad. Love people on here making fun of others English though, classy.
Also like how some guy changes the Convo from him saying Kiprusoff is retired to my use of the word "rumour". Still can't see anything saying Kiprusoff is officially retire yet though.
