I can't remember what the other areas of the city were like, but there was water all the way across the valley through fish creek park.

Wonder if that new development, Riverstone of Cranston will end up being affected. I know they spent the past 10 years building up that valley so they could put housing down there, this will be their first big test.

People with pets are encouraged to leave them with family or friends. If that option is not available, people can take their pets to the Animal Service Centre, 2201 Portland St. S.E.

THIS.

How do they go from "we might have an evacuation order later tonight or tomorrow morning" to "no access after 3:00pm today".

Or Chaparral Valley. You'd be crazy to buy a house down there.

Any CP people being evacuated that need a place for their pets, I will help out and open my home to them.

Holy crap!

Ghost Lake is at capacity. All additional water is overflowing into the Bow and Calgary bound.

The Ride to Conquer Cancer has been postponed this weekend, obviously. The route is flooded, campgrounds evacuated and emergency personnel have more important things to do.

It amazes me at how this is so much worse than 2005.

Ditto. I can take a couple of small dogs, can drive into Calgary to pick them up. Have 3 small dogs of our own (Bichon Shih Tzus) who do well with other small dogs. I don't have the room/capacity for any medium/large dogs, sorry.

The mountain areas got LOTS of rain, also caused a lot of snow melt.

I was supposed to go camping north of Ghost this weekend. It's not too near Ghost River but I wonder if access will be blocked off, I haven't heard anything about Ghost River being high but that's probably just because no one lives near it anyways.
