I think someone saw a fan's trade proposal on HF boards involving Cammalleri for Burmistrov straight up. A trade rumour that has about as much legitimacy as Joffrey Baratheon.

Yes. They say he's got the leadership potential of a young Sean Horcoff.

David Pagnotta @TheFourthPeriod 16s Unless something too good pops up over the next few days, expect Calgary to continue shopping Cammalleri this week and into the Draft.
Sounds like nobody is offering anything that blows the socks off Feaster for Cammalleri yet.

Hold on to him then until somebody does. I would take one sock with a hole in it for Tanguay though.

Unless Feaster and ownership are willing to eat a bunch of $'s, i doubt they will get very good offers for Cammi.
No worries, Cammi will get points on a bad team in Calgary this year and have good value at the deadline.

I think Cammalleri will either be traded before the season with the Flames taking some of the caphit back, or else at the deadline to a playoff team looking for a good rental.

Outside of something truly massive, Cammalleri is the most coveted available Flames for trade. The fact he wasn't gone at the trade deadline is another matter.
The Flames need, and Feaster likely wants, to make some trades and headlines in the next 10d, so I think Cammalleri is gone before July 5, without question.

I agree. And on a decent team with top 6 time Cammalleri is a 30 goal scorer. There isn't a ton of those available on the market as most teams are looking for top 6 forwards. The Flames need them too but undera rebuild...not for a few years.

I second (or third...lost count) that. Cammalleri is the most marketable asset up front and should bring a decent return from the right team.
In addition, the Flames have a bunch of what I would call skilled but soft/undersized players (Backlund, Baertschi, Hudler, Cammalleri, Stajan, etc.). I think they need to swap out some of these guys for some power up front and that in turn will create room, space, confidence, etc for guys like Backlund and Baertschi to excel at their game.

Watch the Flames improve and possibly make it to the post season without Cammy just like the Canadiens did.

I only see Cammi being marketable if the flames eat salary. I don't think there is a team in the league that would take him at $7 million real dollars, without sending back a bad contract.

I hope he's moved right away for assets in this upcoming draft. Hopefully, CGY retains some salary to maximize the return.
Are there any teams looking for top 6 veterans that are under the floor? Is FLA under?

I'd be happy with a bad contract plus picks and/or prospects.

 Posted the 6 millionth post!

I suspect teams are inquiring about a verbal agreement to sign an extension after a trade (as well as pay some salary for his last year), thereby making everyone win. Calgary gets more value, the receiving team gets a long-term asset and Cammy gets a new contract.
Only hold-up would be Cammy wanting to play out this last contract year to try and squeeze more out of a new team. He's not exactly making a case for $6 million / year at this point.

I think teams a leery about giving up assets to acquire Cammy at his point. I think most GMs will want to wait and see how things shake down over the next couple weeks. IMO they'll want to wait and see who gets bought out and becomes available, which UFAs that they are targeting sign with them and what other players might become available in trades, etc.
I'm starting to believe Cammy won't be moved until at least mid July, which isn't a bad thing as long it results in higher demand and a better return.

I should also clarify...I also don't think the Flames should trade him before July 5th either. I think the return on him is better after the draft trades and UFA class sorts itself out. I liken this to the Regher situation a couple years back.
There are teams that are going to miss out on the guys they want; either thinking that have a trade in place with a team at the draft, only to have another team swoop in and over more, and same with UFA time...teams have targeted players that are going to be bought out or just normal UFA's, and then they miss out.
Those teams are then that much more desperate to add a goal scorer like Cammalleri post the first week or two of July...the asking price, and return, can go up.
However, Feaster wants to make an impact in the next 10 days, and some splashses, as he often seems to feel the need to do for whatever reason (job justification?) around draft time. For Regher, it was needing to be clearing his and Kotalik's salary off the books to take a run at Richards a week later.
Cammalleri is the biggest chip Feaster has both now, and post July 5th....I think Feaster has too much of an itchy trigger finger to wait for the better offers post July 5th, and instead get caught up in the frenzy at the draft.
