The reffing was pathetic in this game. The penalties and the no goal because of the ref's quick whistle. The ref should be banned from reffing anymore playoff games this season, that call was megahorse . Dustin Brown should've continued to spazz at the ref. I understand the coaches refraining from these bad calls and Todd Mclellan went through that 2 years ago against the Canucks. The icing call shouldn't have been called since the puck hit Sedin, the next faceoff led to the tying goal. The coach was a good sport about it and Sutter was this time round.

Being injured is worse. If a muscle is sore, you're "hurt," but being injured means that there's something medically not right. He was saying that it's acceptable for someone to go out there and try to play before realizing that they're too sore to be effective, but it's not ok to claim that you don't have a pulled groin when you actually do.

I have had the opportunity to use some great seats the last two seasons. They are lower bowl right on the red behind the benches. I have seen a lot of stars come and go but I have said it time and again. I have never seen a more dominate player on the ice than Joe Thorton.

If you just watch him his efforts are flawless and perfect every time. He is the pivot for this team every puck comes into him it and always comes out in the exact perfect spot and perfect weight every single time. Most of the time he gets a ton of flak for his efforts but he makes it look so simple its deceiving. Just watch next time there is a scrum in the corner he doesn't scrap to get it, he is just the smartest player out there and just seems to come out with it.
His past team/himself playoff performances drastically cast a shadow on how amazing a player he is.

If San Jose wins this series, then they better damn well beat Chicago/Detroit. I have zero interest in seeing either of those teams in the final, and LA was the best shot at taking either of them out. If the Sharks kick out the Kings only to get worked over by one of the Hawks/Red Wings I'll be very disappoint

I agree, Thornton is a Beast... People that harp on his lack of effort in the playoffs simply are NOT watching the game... This is at least 4 playoffs in a row where he has been very dominant...likely more.

Hate to have to bring some rational reasoning to the parade but with Thorton as the leader and some great supporting cast.... Marleau, Pavelski, Boyle, Heatley, Burns, Vlasic, Clowe, Setegouchi over the last 5 years the Sharks-led have won a total 6 play-off series.

When they have made it to the conference final they were spanked 4-0 by Chicago and 4-1 by Vancouver.

Last year the Sharks put up little fight against the Blues (4-1) who had virtually no playoff experience and showed it getting swept in their next series by LA.

Hard to say that Thorton was a dominate player in that series.

Niemi and Quick have both been awesome tonight. Giving the edge to Niemi even though the Sharks are losing. He's faced better chances and come up aces.

Carter's playing like a man on fire tonight. I can definitely see him potting a goal tonight.
