Great respect for Martin on that play. He made a big hit on Gionta, answered the bell when TKo (needlessly) challenged him to a fight, pulled back on the punch when TKo went down and called for the trainer immediately. Well done on everything.

Yup. I would tell you that it won't be that bad but it will be tough to watch for Flame fans as they will now intentionally tank for draft picks, something many here accused the Oilers of doing.

So this is how Oilers fans must have felt a few years ago... I'm sorry for laughing so much back then.
It's not much fun right now is it ....?
It probably will get worse before it gets better but the Flames are doing the right thing ..... dividends will come .....

Flames will be far more aggressive than the Oilers when it comes to trading players, signing UFA and RFAs.
newsflash its his ####ing job to make saves...getting sick of all the 2004 memories blinding everyone to what these players have become. Iggy has 9 goals and Kipper is one of the worst starters in the league. Get over it
Save your trash talk. Until Kipper showed up here in late 2002 (i think) .. Iggy and the boys were still entrenched in the young guns era. Kiprusoff changed the fortunes of this franchise around almost instantly - and definitely is the sole reason the team made the playoffs in 2004. He deserves every bit of the nostalgia being thrown his way now ... and he is entitled to just as much goodwill as Iginla was shown as he walked out of town.

Lets take Comeau off of the tang cammy line and put mcgratton up there. Last few games he has shown some great speed , he crashes the net hard and that was a nice move despite not finishing

McGrattan has always been an alright hockey player. Probably better than any other pure fighter in the NHL at playing the game. He shouldn't have been let go in favor of Ivanans, who was an awful player
flames will be far more aggressive than the oilers when it comes to trading players, signing ufa and rfas.
ok.

I don't mind if we lose some games, but if the veteran players aren't going to put in a complete effort trade them. They are paid very well to do a job and they aren't doing it.
Hey Walter, I guarantee you the Flames won't go the Oilers route of intentionally sucking for 2 or 3 years to try and stockpile #1 picks. My bet is depending on what they do at the draft and in free agency they are trying to make the playoffs next year. We don't tolerate the losing the way the grease fans seemed to warm to the idea. I guess what I'm trying to say is we won't drink the kool-aid the way Oiler fans did.
