Wow, that was depressing. What a class act. Hope he can win it all, just tragic it couldn't be here. Looked like a physical weight had been lifted off his shoulders. He's gonna rip it up in Pittsburgh.

Iggy had to be Mister Everything for the Flames since 1999, and that had to take a huge toll on his psyche. Now he doesn't have to be the top guy. Hell, he isn't even the #2 guy now. That's gonna have a massive effect on his game. He'll be a beast in Pittsburgh.
...after writing that, I had to do some editing to take it all out of the present tense into past tense. I've been expecting this move for a while, but it's weird to refer to Iggy as a former Flame.

I can't believe hes gone. That was one of the hardest things to watch, and then the end with Pete just killed me. Pete means a lot to this team as well and what Jarome has meant to us, and they way they embraced really hit home.
The thing is we didn't get to say goodbye to our captain the way we should have, with a big ovation and farewell like other teams have.
I wish there was a way we could send something to Jarome from the fans to say goodbye, and thank him for his contributions as a flame.
Anyone have any suggestions?

I doubt iginla takes a "secondary" role. He's the guy that will do whatever it takes to be the leader of that team. He's going to re-ignite and lead by example in ways that Crosby and Malkin can't. Love Crosby too but iginla is going to be a warrior for that team and if my gut is right he's going to elevate Pittsburghs top guys game and add a lot of heart and sacrifice to the club.

Have to wonder, if his work visa issues don't get sorted out today or tomorrow and can't fly down to Pit, is it appropriate for him to come down to the Dome and get a proper fan sendoff?
On top of that, he said the family wasn't in town, so he doesn't have to spend time with them before going either.
