Fundmark Check on CGN or Alberta Outdoorsmen Forum. Someone may be able to point you in the right direction.

Do to recent firewalls implemented at work it is tough to shop for shotguns! I just went on the Alberta Outdoorsmen and there is a weatherby pa-08 located in Cochrane in my price range so waiting to hear back from that guy. Can't wait to get out and shoot some clay!

Purchased a 870 wingmaster magnum from Ellwood Epps. Condition was only listed as good but for a first gun that I probably won't use all that often their rating says everything is safe and fully functional. Plus from what I'm reading you can't go wrong with a wingmaster for under 350

Congrats on the purchase you will be satisfied with it for sure! I have 3 870 Wingmaster 12 Gauges of different vintages and 1 870 Express in a 20g and for price point and durabity they are pretty darn great. I am in the market for a slightly used Browning Citori O/U for this years pheasant season. If anybody knows of one for sale let me know!

Where are you guys doing your skeet shooting? Anything around Calgary I should be aware of?
Lost my skeet shooting buddy when my brother moved to BC, love to join a club or something and do more of it.

Taber is building a new range right now, they are hoping for a early May opening date.
Range will have 600m, 100m rifle range (with I believe plans for future 1000m range) pistol/revolver range, shotguns, archery, cowboy action, clays, trap and skeet.
Rifle ranges are bermed to allow for simultaneous use of all ranges. There will be a landscaped camping area with utilities. The range has been designed for provincial and national shooting competitions, as well as law enforcement training.
Electronic gate, members receive a card, and I believe they are allowed to bring guests.
This range is gonna be the tits. Might just be the nicest range in the province, if not the entire country when its completed.
Very nice to see the town and MD stepping up to the plate for shooters in southern Alberta.

Necro bump.
What kind of shotguns are you monkeys rocking?
I'm looking at a Benelli Supernova pump or a Mossberg 500.
This will be my first firearm. Going to stick with pump versus auto just to keep it simple since I'm a noob. Anybody have either one of these?

I've got a Mossberg 590, can't beat the reliability.

I hear you on that. It is a consideration for sure.
Already know I will not be buying from Cabelas regardless of price differences between them and Canadian Tire or local shops.

Okay, cool. Reliability and ease of use are big considerations for me having never done this before, although they all seem fairly easy to use.
Are there outdoor spots close by you can just drive to and shoot at targets?
Also going to get a Ruger 10/22. Those seem super fun.

Don't be crazy.
Took my PAL course last month. Just want to enjoy shooting some targets and getting outside some more.

There's crown land nearby you can shoot at, but access is starting to be reduced, especially at ghost due to arseholes being careless, stupid and messy. Best is to join a range, but some are hard to get into without an invite or have wait lists. Cabela's is ok, but there's decent online places to buy as well as gunpost for used.
The shotty was my first gun as well. It's actually the shockwave version I picked up used as I wanted the short tough barrel, put a stock on it, now a bear defense/camping gun. Also contemplated the 10/22, good platform with tons of parts/accessories. I ended up with a CZ 457 Canadian in 22LR, and will grab a barrel change kit which allows for changes to 22 Mag or 17 HMR within minutes. Gives a bit more flexibility.
Now I'm contemplating which larger calibre bolt action I want to get into. I'm sticking with bolt as I fear any semi auto will be subject to future bans.

The Benelli I'm looking at is the tactical version as I want a shorter barrel, too. You may not know this, but I have a thing with bears. Couple slugs in the feeding tube would be sick.
I'll look into the CZ 457 tonight and watch some videos. Thanks for the recommendation. I bet there are some comparo videos between that and the 10/22.
Rifle I'm currently looking at is the Tikka T3 .270 bolt action. Same thought as you on staying away from semi-auto.
That'll be my collection. Shotgun, 22 and the .270.
