Yeah, doesn't sound good. Not a good thing either. Last think we need is a meathead choosing to take a run at Baertschi (or Rattie).

Yeah, maybe they should put Brad Ross on a line with Baertschi and Rattie for a bit.

They are targeting Rattie by the sounds of things.

It's Baertchi, Ross, and someone else(not Rattie) right now.

The Winterhawks twitter feed has been great this game. Wish I'd been able to make it to this game.
"The usher behind the Kamloops penalty box looks like she wishes she'd called in sick tonight."

Hell of a job killing a three-men short situation for that long. Shame we couldn't see that on TV.

Bartschi with 2nd star and 2 goals. Winterhawks go up 2-0.

Is it wrong that I'm rooting for the Blazers to take one game so I can actually get to see a game in this series?

Went to the game tonight in Portland, first WHL game in the US.
Third period was crazy after the Winterhawks scored their 2nd and third goals. Scraps all over the place, and just an endless stream of players to the penalty boxes.
Some observations:
-Sven looked great, his stickhandling is amazing
-Rattie enters the zone very quickly and has a lot of speed and buzz to his game but he did not look nearly as impressive as Bartshi tonight
-Bartschi seems to be well-known and respected by the Portland fans but is clearly considered the second fiddle to Rattie; Rattie is definitely the star player in the eyes of the collective fans
-The lady at the Winterhawks store had no idea what I was saying when I said "Bartschi" as I have been taught to pronounce it by Swiss-German people I know, so I had to say #27
-The raffle at the game today was a white #47 Flames jersey signed by Bartschi, loads of people were buying tickets too
-Bartschi's first goal was amazing hand-eye coordination
-Sven's second goal was a very nice move, but it looked like he almost lost the handle and found a way to still get it in
-Sven also set up several Winterhawks players very nicely and they faild to convert
-Wotherspoon looked good, skated very well, made some nice calm moves in his own end with the puck and was a lot less scary than a lot of the Portland defensemen (especially the way they played in the first)

I wonder how much of this is a result of Rattie actually being in Portland for the full season and playing every game, and also by virtue of the fact that he was their leading scorer this year by a wide margin.

Goal scorers are almost always more beloved than playmakers.

Goals win games so it's not surprising. I used to always look at goal totas over assist and total points because that's all i thought mattered. Now i realize than an all around game is what matters more than your point totals (even though it helps) and Bartschi plays a better all around game than Rattie.

It is entirely possible that four of the flames prospwcts can win titles this year. With gaudreau and arnold winning the ncaa titles and.with baertschi and wotherspoon taking the memorial cup. Exciting future.

Ive also noticed that Wotherspoon has taken some huge strides over the course of the season. When I saw Wotherspoon play earlier this season, I was shocked that a 2nd round pick was used on him.. He looked like an Adam Pardy V-2.0, by the end he was playing pretty well offensively and has been great positionally, even away from the puck. Looks like he has a bit of a mean streak in front of the net as well.
Intriguing 2nd round pick still, would like to see how he pans out in the long term.

Sorry it took me so long to update the stats on the first page, no internet. Thanks for posting the highlights though! Unbelievably impressed by everything I see.

And Karri Ramo (goalie acquired in the Cammalleri trade) is playing in the KHL Finals in Russia.
Hopefully the Heat can have a long playoff run too.

Wow...6 games played so far and Bartschi has been one of the three stars in all but one.
1st star twice, 2nd star twice, third star once. Talk about a dominant player.
