Still 11 minutes left.. Saints could cause a little more trouble before this is done.

Well, this sucks.

Hopefully the Saints can get home field advantage in the playoffs. I don't think they want to come back to Lambeau in January.

I guess not....one more at least.

And it's half a yard short. This one ended up being a pretty interesting finish.

How do you not score from the 1???

I know it isn't the CFL with the yard gap but the Saints aren't the Lions they need to score that TD.

Packers win 42-34 after the Saints were stuffed at the 1.

Saints O-line got embarrassed in short yardage situations all night. I'm actually surprised they didn't try to get to the edge or go play action.

Wow the Saints had it twice within a yard of the goal line and both drives ended in 0 points. Tough way to lose the first game of the year. I thought Sproles/Thomas looked a lot better then Ingram (I know it is only his first game).

Sproles will make the Saints forget about Reggie Bush in an awful hurry. Great pickup imo.

Really one game a year is awesome just to be in the atmosphere...but the other 16 weeks of the season, I can see why people stay home. For the cost of season tickets, parking, and some concession items...you can buy those T.V's, Sunday ticket, an Ipad, and still have money left over.

Tonights game looks to be a good matchup, but from what I rember of these Thursday season openers....expect the defences to have their way tonight. I think Peyton Manning shredding the Saints on a Thursday to open the 2008 season is about the only big offensive performance I can remember in the past 5 years.

Sorry, had to do it. I was thinking the same though

Great game tonight, can't wait for the monday nighters!

Short yardage situations have been the Achilles heel for the Saints for the past few years. Not sure what else they can do other than scour the earth for Christian Okoye progeny.

I think if they would have flipped those two plays, they may have had more success. Run Ingram on the 4th and 1, run play action at the goal line.

Saints made all the mistakes and were still in it, like to see a rematch in the dome down the road. Brees was brilliant tonight considering the Packers were not playing run for the entire second half.

It never fails, seems like I post something and the exact opposite takes place.

I'm surprised it took this long to come up. I suppose when you match up two teams who are known for their offences this can happen. To think these teams offences could be that much more refined in a couple weeks.

I remember when CFL hard core fans always used to bring up how the NFL was boring run the ball 3 times and punt it away. Not with these two teams!

I agree, hard to beat the champs in Green Bay. I have no doubt we will bounce back. That rookie corner Robinson scares me though, he was really bad!

Good game...I think NO will be back...with all mistakes they're a yard away from possibly tying it up.

Not sure why Woodson didn't get punted for that punch.

And really, to start it off...2 Unlimited? Is this 1994 and someone had a "Jock Jams" CD collecting dust?

It wouldn't matter who you had in the backfield, that O-Line was pathetic in short yardage. The line of scrimmage was pushed back a good yard into the backfield. No back is overcoming that. They couldn't even hold off the surge long enough to allow a play action fake, let alone the pass.
