This one is my favorite so far.
Undefeated in playoff games. Must be clutch

Even on the night, seemed involved in the offense, didnt shy away from contact, much better play in front of the net. Im not saying he was awsome but he was a 4 million dollar defensemen tonight. Went from abismal in the first two games back to just overpaid.

It's probably a bad sign that through three games the Flames best defenseman by far has been a guy that came in with the reputation of being a train-wreck in his own end.

All I can think of about Bouwmeesters game tonight is how he drove the puck wide on a glorious chance in the 3rd. Its not just the fact he missed this time, its the fact that's what we've seen that from this guy for 3 years now. Its actually starting to disturb me how unclutch this player is.

Bouwmeester tonight:
28 minutes, even +-, playing a lot of minutes against Vancouver's top guys. Was on for the Kassian goal, which was mostly Giordano's fault.
Downright awful seems accurate.

Bouw was lucky he was on the ice for one of our goals. If he wasn't then he would have had the worst +/- rating in the league.

What else would you expect from a player who plays the most minutes on a team with one of the worst even strength GF/GA ratio's in the league?

Bouw was serviceable in the 1st half of the game but showed quickly how anti clutch he was as the game went on. He missed the net, lost puck battles, and failed to help us win the game. Unacceptable for his salary and role on the team as a catalyst d man.

Or maybe it's a sign that the reputation isn't entirely warranted

I have to say, as much as I think Kyprios may be the dumbest analyst alive, he was dead right tonight - the Flames ability to make a clean pass, and move through the neutral zone with speed, is absolutely horrific
And it isn't a new problem - I have been saying dor some time that I think they need to do the Detroit thing and just pass pucks around at high tempo. Because they are awful.

What this team needs is a #1 centerman and a hard puck-pounding d-man. Flames currently don't have neither at the moment. When Babchuck comes back, and I don't care if he's bad defensively, he can make things happen on the PP and on offensive attacks. Currently, no oppositions are respecting the Flames on the point because they know they can gather in front of the goalie and block the shots. Secondly, it seems like every time they enter the offensive zone, there's no puck control.
I think offering up Jbo + another player and/or a prospect for a #1 centerman would be awesome. Who? I don't know, but I just hope Phillie keeps on loosing.
