I don't mind their hit songs, but the lead singer did not sound very good live.

Agreed, although I may be biased in that I find Anne Hathaway to be terrible in everything, I can't stand her. I did find Mokiki And the Sloppy Swish to be pretty funny. Extremely weird, yes, but pretty funny.

The only thing enjoyable about Anne Hathaway are her big ol' titties. She is painfully annoying.

I'd give Anne an "A" for effort, but the material was not strong. Maybe something to do with Sandy, but you'd think they would have a stronger show in a week where Obama won the election. Drunk Uncle is always great. Kate does a good Ellen.
'SNL' Scorecard: Anne Hathaway Channels Her Inner 'Les Miz'

She had hosted twice before and, both times, was excellent. So, now, it's been three times and you should please try to remember this time because she is a great host! But, the disappointing news: The material this time around was not as consistently strong as her last two appearances -- at least in terms of letting Hathaway excel at what she does best.
Average Score for this Show: 5.87

· Joseph Gordon-Levitt 5.51

I only skit I slightly smiled at was the Ellen one..Thought it was mildly amusing..That Mcdonalds one was just pure brutal.

Fixed your post. She lost them for Les Mis. It's tragic.

Not a great episode, but not terrible. I enjoyed Mitt Romney sneaking his milk on the balcony. I also thought the two new girls were very funny in the Girlfriend Talk Show. Homeland and Ellen were decent parodies, and you have to give kudos to Anne Hathaway for being willing to ridicule two actresses in her peer group.
Update was really weak for the second week in a row, you would think with the election and Sandy they would have a ton of material but it has been pretty pedestrian of late.

The Homeland skit was pretty good, Brody's daughter was hilarious. Drunk Uncle was good too. Other than that, it was blah. I don't blame Anne Hathaway, the writing was poor.

I note that Neil Young & Crazy Horse are in NYC in early December - perhaps they will visit SNL?

Another disappointing show...I didn't catch the whole show, but what I saw wasn't great.
"The Standoff" was quite good but other than that skit Renner seemed nervous and awkward to me.
I thought Maroon 5 was good. Don't really listen to their stuff but thought they performed well.
Hosting that show can't be easy. Makes me appreciate hosts like Baldwin, Timberlake and Hamm, whose shows are always consistantly funny.
Since troutman hasn't posted it yet...

It's werid they keep going back to big names that aren't known for comedy. Jeremy Renner was a perfect example of someone who A) Doesn't know how to be funny, and B) takes himself too seriously. Another stinker of a host.

I thought that was the weakest show overall this season. I liked Seth's Winners/Losers. The Californians has used up the premise, but it is amusing to see the cast breaking-up. I'd like SNL to invite edgier bands, but that it wishful thinking.

Its weird because one of Renner's first recognizable film roles was national lampoons school trip.

Yeah, I was worried he wouldn't be funny...wasn't surprised.
Decent singing voice, though.

Does anyone enjoy the musical monologues? If I'm not mistaken, that's 7 out of 8 monologues that have involved singing this season, and I haven't cracked a smile during any of them (other than from the unintentional comedy when the piano malfunctioned).

SNL this past weekend was pretty dull. When Bruno Mars was a host they had some clever skits especially when he was the nerd at the radio station character.

Californians twice in the first 3 months of the season was too much. I like the skit a lot, but shouldn't be that close together or else it will lose its appeal and I think it has with this last one. Armisen couldn't hold it together though and that was awesome.
