Talk about tiresome, this stuff is bull ####. It's awful easy to criticize a stranger's mental toughness over the internet, but you don't know a ####ing thing about how tough they are. It's a lazy, non-falsifiable talking point.

100%, I'll criticize players and staff who are better at their jobs than I will ever be. Anyone who's ever put on a Flaming C even once would skate circles around me. But I do my absolute best to keep my criticism to things I see or find evidence for. I don't make judgments about what's going on in their heads or if they're cancers in the room because that #### is garbage.

And just because it needs being said and I've been very negative on the team for the past couple weeks, hats off to the penalty kill tonight, it was excellent.

Ah, the old 'there's no way my opinion is wrong so I question if you even watch the games' line. Classic.

We have different opinions on things. It's ok.

Imagine if you guys get the 4th spot and Leafs get 1st.

That means Leafs would play Flames first round right?

Would Flames go with Rittich? He clearly owns the Leafs. It's not even a small sample. I'm pretty sure in previous seasons he's always played great against them.

Ward had said that last year he kept using Peters system, but since the beginning of this year, where we began using Wards system that number is 0?

I’m not sure it’s mental fragility that allowed the Leafs to nearly skate you out of the rink for 120+ minutes.

In fact it may have taken some mental toughness to win the first game despite not having the puck too much.

Maybe the assembled team, coach included, aren’t as good at hockey as the opposition on many nights.

Absolutely. They were awesome these past two games. The positives I really noticed tonight:

Rittich (obviously)
The PK
Kylington

Ward's hockey smarts is so non-existent that having that knowledge would explode his brain and result in him starting Domingue because he wouldn't know what else to do

No. Unless Markstrom was hurt he'd be starting. No way you sign a guy to that deal (and who has been the team MVP this season) and then sit him in the playoffs.

Just good to know Rittich could step in if he had to.

Hey man not all of us can do sports psychology through the TV, some of us need to be to be coaches through the TV instead.

It’s funny - some use the fact there have been 4 coaches with similar results as proof positive the Flames don’t hire good coaches. That may be true, but the other explanation is that the Flames players just don’t perform that well no matter who their coach is.

I’m suspecting it’s some kind of defense mechanism
How is this any different than people who stick to “if only we had a different coach they’d be better” coach after coach?

I was surprised how good Rittich looked because I know he had been struggling.

I was also surprised by how decent Hutchinson was since he was so garbage last year.

I don't know how the Flames shutdown the Leafs powerplay but hopefully it was a one-off because if other teams start doing whatever it was that just worked for the Flames on the PK it will suck. I need more Matthews goals.
