Lol is Staples okay? That's a bit "extra" even for him.

Neal, Kahun, Haas & Shore show up to camp unfit to play. Haas apparently travelled from Europe with a covid infected individual. No reasons for the other three.

Well we know one thing for sure, Neal being unfit to play has nothing to do with COVID.

Who gets a dog just to match the house decor?????

EDIT: Actually now that I've thought about it, with a shedding pooch it may not be a bad idea.

Isn’t the whole decor as a whole a dog house?

I’m sure Scooby and Shaggy would still rather sleep in a van....

Haha, he was so motivated last year to stick it to the Flames. Best shape of my life, guys. What is going to happen with him when he isn't motivated anymore and injured? We all know the answer to that is to show up as a surly fat ass.

Just out of curiosity, when is the last time the Oilers have had to open the season with an away game?

I was curious and the last time they opened the season against a divisional opponent on the road was 2012-2013 (Van). So you are right it does seem like they usually open against divisional opponents at home. 2001-2002 was the last time they opened the season in Calgary.

Just to add since 2001-2002 the Flames have opened in Edmonton 6 times.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I cannot wait to watch the Keeper of the Code making sure all the NHL players don't do anything stupid. Ha. Ha. Ha. I am taking the under on Zack Kassian being an arse within 10 seconds of puck drop.

They always finish poorly so what does it matter what sort of favorable scheduling they have fall into their laps?

They've had every opportunity to succeed in recent years and their all-offense approach and organizational incompetence at the end of the day ends up being their undoing, regardless of what "major" depth they pluck from the league's bargain bin. Just another year of musical chairs on the comedy presentation of the Titanic. It all adds to the entertainment of the inevitable unraveling.

I prefer them to have to reach for their excuses than have them readily available. I also really don't mind the road starts for the Flames, and this year especially home advantage means less than usual. Besides, we'll get to see those beauty road jerseys that much sooner!

I dunno, he looked so neutered after the Tkachuk incident/new contract. Hard to say, but hopefully he has some life and there will be plenty of hilarity to go around.
