Sounds like FIFA is doing their site visit for 2026 next weekend now as well. Good idea, see how logistics etc fare with a full stadium, and unlikely to be anything else that will fill Commonwealth in the next 6 to 8 months. Good chance for FIFA to get their first installment of bribe money from the CSA too.
Commonwealth is a half step above on the sump scale from McMahon in terms of desirability, ancient and clunky compared to most footballing nations stadia, certainly on the world stage, but with BC not putting in a bid for BC Place, it’s likely Edmonton gets a few games.
My guess is one Canada group game, and another 1 or two minnow games in 2026. And grass field has to be used.

Edmonton wants the opening game of the 2026 World Cup. Canada against somebody.
Like when they hosted the opening game of the Women's World Cup in 2015 in front of 53,000

I heard a rumour that if Edmonton does get those two games in 2026, there will be spending significant money spent upgrading Commonwealth in preparation. They're already rehabilitating it to the tune of $25-$30M between now and 2030, expect that go wayyyyy up and that scope to quickly increase should they get those two World Cup games.

It’ll cost a lot more than that to move it 300kms south!

Thinking that has to be Jebbison committing to Canada?
Edit: his next tweet says he doesn’t think people are going to guess it when a bunch have already replied Jebbison so it must be someone else.

Stefan Mitrovic? Would he be a surprise? I think many are hoping/expecting he’ll enter the Canadian fold

Fikayo Tomori would have been cool. Born in Calgary, plays for AC Milan, but has already declared for England.
Can players switch after declaring?

I think there could have been a case before the last international window for a one time switch but since he was called up again and played last window I think that’s not going to happen anymore. Who knows though, with FIFA rules are just guidelines anyway.

Declaring doesn't mean anything, it's matches played. You are cap-tied once you play a real game for a country. Tomori has played twice for England.

It's more of a catch phrase for commitment.

Wheeler is such a loser. Just say who it is, or don't.

If no one can guess, it's probably not that good of a player so who cares. Stuff it, Wheeler.

Yeah I'm prepared to be disappointed
EDIT: The dream is definitely a CB playing in a top European league that has somehow gone unknown to all of us
