Nothing is more terrifying to the wallets of Albertans than when the UCP tries to privatize ####. The only questions worth asking are how much is this boondoggle gonna cost us, and how big are the sacks of cash UCP friends will walk away with?

Doug Ford tried that in Ontario and the new license plates couldn't be read at night, so they had to go back to old ones.

Well, it's also the provincial motto and in the national anthem, so I guess we kind of have to give them a pass on that?

I don't really care about a license plate that much. I wasn't about to vote for the Wildrose Party because it mentioned 'Wildrose Country,' and I'm not suddenly into separation, as it will also say 'strong and free.'

"Strong and free" is a pretty dumb slogan to put on a license plate that reminds me of New Hampshire's "Live free or die" license plate. I wonder if Smith had to hold herself back from slapping on "In god we trust" like a bunch of other US states.

Apparently you can keep your Wild Rose Country plate, these are optional. Also, staying with only a rear license plate (thank f-ck).

Are the letters and numbers supposed to be high contrast against the background for visibility? Or will any background do?

As I recall, the PCs at the time objected to the "Wild Rose" on the old plate, so in the tradition of thin skin and "fiscal responsibility" they created new plates, until the Wild Rose crossed the floor and I guess they were cancelled?
Also WTF is this Strong and Free nonsense? Did I miss a meeting?
