Same ol' argument, just like Hilary's emails.

Sure, that was dumb. But on the scale of dumb, it's letting your kitten play in a pile of toilet paper rolls vs giving your 4 your old keys to a bulldozer and surrounding it with luxury vehicles.

How about this....

Quote:
For example, on a key campaign promise of 2,000 new public long-term care beds over four years, the NDP faltered. The beds were indeed provided, but the vast majority came from for-profit corporations through a PC-era program.

They introduced a $15 minimum wage, but failed to end employers’ power to compel overtime, or prevent construction firms from evading union agreements.

They kept post-secondary tuition frozen, but didn’t “fund higher education in any extensive way and shift the responsibility back to government.”

Parkland Institute director Ricardo Acuña, writing in Alberta Views in 2019 (“What They Did”), highlighted the fiasco of Bill 6 in December 2015 as a turning point for the NDP government.

The bill extended workplace health and safety provisions, including workers’ compensation coverage, to farm workers. But whatever merits it had were overshadowed by its bungling “from conception to drafting to rollout. Having barely consulted farmers, the NDP was startled by the fierce blowback from them, which the opposition duly took advantage of.

That narrative cuts both ways.

Yes but there’s also a big difference between a failed attempt at doing something sensible and a successful attempt at doing something incompetent.

Not when your family has a conservative voting history.

Worst plan ever. Stupid me signed up for it and they took my shower head; I didn’t know until they had left. I’m a water miser when showering; if I want a nice shower head…well, I had to buy a new one that gives a nice shower.

The UCP is a great option with Danielle Smith, I mean Minister of Health Theoren Fleury, Minister of Finance Jamie Sale what's not to like. Just give the a chance.

The Theo thing I get. I met the guy while he was a player and it was clear the guy was a narcissistic, opinionated jerk back in the 90s. But this Jamie Sale thing is just baffling to me. Out of nowhere she goes from Canada's Princess being interviewed on The Tonight Show.... to Mrs. Alex Jones.

It might explain why her and Craig Simpson didn't last.

It is the lesser of two "evils". Not voting because I dislike the NDP, would/could help the UCP and there is no ####ing way I will help the UCP.

I can't vote NDP on principal. I can vote Liberal but not NDP. Never NDP. I will never accept NDP, Green Party and all the other hokey parties as a viable option for my province or country.

I don't trust Notley as a leader of the party. She brought in a carbon tax without a mandate from voters and she pissed off farmers with Bill 6. She's like all other politicians where they don't listen to the voters. So they voted her out.

#### I wanted to avoid this topic since it's the gear grinder thread and not the politics thread, but I gotta ask; What principle is that?

I can vote Liberal in the next election if they can afford to run a candidate in my riding, though the party is broke and leaderless and pretty much dead.

But I can't vote for the NDP or UCP.
