Unfortunately the firearms allegations underlying the raid seem to be a bit thin. They may have just had replica guns.

Saskatchewan RCMP#arrested#16 adults, including#cult leader Romana Didulo, in the village of Richmound on Wednesday after#a firearms investigation.
Vanessa Johnson, a resident of#Richmound, said the raid came as a surprise.
"We didn't really know that anything was going to happen," Johnson said.
Johnson said she was flooded with calls about the news and went to go witness the event. She said the RCMP's report about replica guns doesn't surprise her.
"One of the cult leaders was walking up and down my street, which is quite a bit," she said.#"They really have talked about shooting people bringing boots on the ground."
Johnson said the news is a huge relief for a small community that has felt frustrated and scared.
"Our spirits are so lifted. I feel so happy," Johnson said. "This is the best day of my life."

It was really nice when we were able to go back to calling it the United Kingdom a few years ago.

Michelle Rempel might be stupider than Danielle Smith. Let that sink in.

Why the #### is Mark Carney inviting the mastermind behind Project 2025 to his cabinet meeting?

Rempel doesn't even live in Canada. It blows my mind that people vote for her, especially in the age of "boycott America".

The Prime Minister's Office (PMO) said Roberts is speaking to cabinet about trade issues because he knows the Trump administration's playbook.
Roberts's book Dawn's Early Light: Taking Back Washington to Save America includes a foreword written by U.S. Vice-President JD Vance
The PMO added it would be beneficial for cabinet to hear Roberts's perspective and understand the White House's priorities as the government prepares for the Canada-U.S.-Mexico Agreement (CUSMA) review next year.

I sure hope this is a strategic play. Know your enemy. May as well hear what their real priorities are. If not? Ugh.

Yea, I'm not a fan of this at all. I'm with Fuzz in that I sincerely hope that this is purely strategic in order to get a sense of what the U.S. wants out of CUSMA negotiations. Carney isn't stupid, and he must have a good reason for doing this. I'm sure he knows full well that engaging with this authoritarian s*** stain isn't gonna go down well with Canadians right now.

And your enemy is just going to be a World Class dumbass and what? Just tell you?
Is he a Bond Villain in his secret Lair?
"Our plan to screw you is 'XYZ' and this is how we plan on doing it!" Followed by an evil cackle?
I'm highly skeptical.

Have you seen America lately? These people think they are directly descended from the baby Jesus. Someone asks them to come up and speak the gospel, they are one it faster than Christ on a...ok, you get the point.

The project 2025 Tarriff goals actually made sense if you read through them. They wanted to end most favoured nation status and target countries that don’t provide reciprocal free trade.
So in the Canadian context this would mean Tarriffing flow through goods. Essentially the non-CUMSA goods but not energy or steal or copper or softwood. The 2025 economic plan wasn’t out to lunch.

It also makes sense when you look at it as a massive wealth transfer from the plebs to the billionaires. The billionaires get big tax breaks and the government replaces that income by charging tariffs on a huge pile of products and materials and vacuum all of that money up from the people.

Does that depend on which part of the document you read?
Quote:
Project 2025 is split on the issue of foreign trade.[112] Mandate author Peter Navarro advocates what he calls a "fair trade" policy of reciprocal, higher tariffs on the European Union, China, and India, to achieve a balance of trade, though not all U.S. levies are lower than those of its major trading partners.[126] On the other hand, Mandate author Kent Lassman of the Competitive Enterprise Institute promotes a free trade policy of lowering or eliminating tariffs to cut costs for consumers, and calls for more free trade agreements.[126] He argues that Trump's and Biden's tariffs have undermined not just the American economy, but also the nation's international alliances.

CBC just reported that the Project 2025 guy is no longer speaking at today's cabinet meeting. The official explanation is that he's no longer available. But my guess is that perhaps Carney and his team read the room and decided to cancel his appearance. I imagine the backlash from the public would have been fierce.

Car is red. Our flag has red. The Flames are a Canadian hockey team. The community often posts rally cars in game threads. Seems fitting.
