Carlos could very well challenge the current big 3 considering he may spend a healthy part of his career battling players like Zverev, FAA, Sinner, Tsitsipas, Medvedev, Rublev and Rune for big titles. No offense to them, but they are not even in the same area code, and nowhere near the opposition quality that Roger, Rafa, Novak provided each other (not forgetting they also had to contend with Murray, Stan and Ferrer).
Hopefully at least one of the above will elevate themselves on the back of playing against Carlos repeatedly, but as of now I don't see anyone that will be able to challenge him for a number of years when Novak is fully finished.

That generation was amazing. Don't forget Tsonga, Berdych, Milos, Del Potro, Cilic... any of those guys would be Top 5 easily in today's age.Berdych made 7 grand slams semifinals in the middle of the big 4 era. Ferrer 6, Tsonga 6, Del Potro 6, Cilic 6, Nalbandian 5 etc...
Even guys like Lopez, Kolhscriber, Fognini, Gasquet are still taking scalps.

I actually think Sinner will be the biggest rival to Alcaraz. Tennis is all about matchups and he seems to match up well against him. Last year he beat him in Wimbledon and had match point against him in the US Open. They have played 6 times with each man winning 3. Sinner may not be able to beat Djokovic but he has shown he is able to beat Alcaraz.

Is this where I point out that Felix currently leads the H2H with Charlie 3-1? As NF states very clearly above, matchups along with play styles are a major factor in determining the outcome of a tennis match.

You can see one of these matches, both players in their prime, what one you seeing?
1) Federer vs Alcaraz
2) Djokovic vs Sampras
3) Nadal vs Bjorg

I think we need to know where the matchup is taking place. For example, Nadal vs. Borg at the French Open might last between 7 and 8 hours.
That said, I think I would like to see Djokovic vs. Sampras at Wimbledon. It would be the ultimate clash between serve-and-volley versus the best returner ever. Fascinating to see who would prevail.

We either need somebody in the young group (Holger, Sinner, FAA, Korda etc.) to accept the Charlie challenge or Novak to play into his early 40's to maintain these type of numbers.

Djokovic in straights.
Fed vs. Alcaraz would be fun though. Would be a lot of insane highlights at least.

Well, I don't think Kyrgios is anywhere close to the form needed to be on the team, thus I think there's three spots open. Still 2 months to determine who should be added to Team World, I still think Shapo has a shot if he could string some good matches together.

That said, Shapo may not be healthy either (complaining about his knee post-Wimbledon and might be looking at taking a few months off).

Yesterday, Leo Borg (son of Bjorn) recorded his first ATP victory at a clay tourney in Sweden.

It should be two years of suspension if the allegations are true. I'm preparing myself to be disappointed.
/Mikael Ymer received an 18 month suspension yesterday for missing three drug tests

Well drugs are cut and dry, you either pass or fail tests.
Allegations and court cases are messy.
